Why not start your Thanksgiving with a little morning college basketball action?

The No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks take on the Wisconsin Badgers in the Battle 4 Atlantis on Thursday morning, with both teams looking to remain undefeated on the season.

Jalen Wilson and Gradey Dick have been terrific for the Jayhawks, and Dick’s six first-half 3-pointers helped Kansas take down NC State on Wednesday.

The freshman finished the game with 25 points, and he’ll look to duplicate that performance against a Wisconsin team that prides itself on the defensive end of the floor.

The Badgers have just one player (senior forward Tyler Wahl) that is averaging double-digit points per game this season, but the team has wins over Dayton, Stanford, Green Bay and South Dakota to open the 2022-23 season.

Here are the latest odds for this matchup:

Wisconsin vs. Kansas Prediction and Pick

These are two of the best defensive teams in the country, as the Jayhawks rank 10th in adjusted defensive efficiency while the Badgers come in at No. 12. Wisconsin is also fifth in the nation in opponent effective field goal percentage and first in opponent 3-point percentage.

This is a major step up in class for the Badgers, but the Jayhawks haven’t been blowing teams out so far this season, beating Duke by five, Southern Utah by six and NC State by six.

With this line at 6.5, is there value on Wisconsin?

While I don’t mind a bet on the Badgers, I actually think the best play in this game is to take the UNDER.

Wisconsin plays at an extremely slow tempo (292nd in the country), and it’s gone UNDER this number in three of its four games. Yesterday’s game against Dayton finished with just 85 combined points!

The Jayhawks have way more offensive firepower, which gives me some pause about betting against them, so I’d rather take the UNDER in a game I expect Wisconsin to try to control the pace in.
