Wizards vs. Pelicans Prediction and Odds: Bet Washington to Bounce Back Against a Terrible Team
By Matt De Saro
The (11-6) Washington Wizards head to New Orleans tonight to attempt a bounce-back game against a struggling Pelicans team. Washington was beaten by the Hornets as 4.5 point favorites and has a great shot to get back in the win column tonight.
The Pelicans are 3-16 as of today and have lost four of their last five games. Most of those losses weren’t even close including a 14-point loss to the Timberwolves in their last game. Willy Hernangomez led the team in scoring with 19 points but he didn't get much help. The Pelicans' downfall in that game was their 23 turnovers when compared to the 12 from the Timberwolves.
The Pelicans have not looked very competitive and already appear to have given up. Whether or not the players are aware, the Pelicans season is already over.

Wizards vs. Pelicans Prediction and Pick
The Wizards are doing a good job of surviving the early season without some of their best players. Both David Bertans and Rui Hachimura are getting close to returning and all Washington needs to do is continue treading water until they get back on the court. Tonight is a great spot for the Wizards to do just that against a Pelicans team that struggles to play anything resembling defense.
The Wizards are in a little offensive funk and this game could get them back on the right track. Washington’s defense is stellar but they need to start being more consistent on offense. In their last game against the Hornets, Washington shot only 38.7 percent from the field and that won’t cut it against most teams. Luckily, the Pelicans aren’t most teams and have been held under 100 points in their last four games in a row. So, the Wizards won't have to do much to outscore this squad.
Pick: Washington Wizards -4.5 (-110)
