Wizards vs. Timberwolves Prediction and Odds (Washington Can Cover Double-Digit Spread)
By Matt De Saro
The Washington Wizards and Minnesota Timberwolves do battle on Tuesday at the Target Center. A quick glance at the odds below is a strong indication that these two teams are on different ends of the NBA standings.
The Washington Wizards are firmly entrenched near the bottom of the Eastern Conference and have already been eliminated from the playoffs. However, the Wizards haven’t given up on the season and have won four of their last six games heading into Tuesday.
The Timberwolves, on the other hand, are fighting to move into the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference. That spot is currently held by the Utah Jazz who are 1.5 games ahead of Minnesota. Either way, the T-Wolves are guaranteed a play-in berth, but if they finish sixth they would avoid the need for that. With three games left on the schedule, every win counts a lot more than usual.
WynnBET doesn’t have odds listed for this showdown yet, but here are the consensus numbers:
Wizards vs. Timberwolves Odds, Spread, and Total
Spread:
- Wizards: +11 (-110)
- Timberwolves: -11 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Wizards: +450
- Timberwolves: -650
Total:
- 234 (Over -110/Under -110)
Wizards vs. Timberwolves Prediction and Pick
While neither of these teams has a particularly good defense, the Timberwolves have a huge advantage on the other end of the court. In fact, the Timberwolves have the top-ranked scoring offense in the NBA at 115.8 points per game. The T-Wolves also have phenomenal stats in important metrics when compared to the Wizards. The Timberwolves rank third in the NBA in blocks, third in steals, and fifth in offensive rebounds per game.
While the Wizards are clearly the better team, I am not convinced they win this game by double digits on Tuesday. While they are making a run at the No. 6 spot in the East, the T-Wolves are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games. The Wizards continue to play hard despite being eliminated and are 5-2 ATS in their last seven. I think the Timberwolves come out on top tomorrow night, but not by enough to cover 11 points.
Pick: Wizards +11 (-110)
