I'm thrilled to bring you the first installment of our WNBA Power Rankings based off each team's latest odds in Vegas to win the title.

These rankings will update week-to-week as odds continue to shift in the futures market, as well as observing how the regular season continues to unfold.

This week was a banner one for the 13-5 Chicago Sky; going 3-0 with two road wins in Las Vegas and L.A, along with this fantastic buzzer beater by Courtney Vandersloot to sink Minnesota at home.

The Lynx erased a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter to tie it up with just seven seconds left to go, but Vandersloot had none of it as Chicago got it done again on their home floor.

Before diving into this week's Power Rankings, here's how the latest odds stack up to win the 2022 WNBA Championship over at WynnBET.

  • Connecticut Sun +375

  • Dallas Wings +5000
  • Atlanta Dream +7500

WNBA Power Rankings (Based on Vegas Odds)

After the Sky let the last-place Fever make up a 15-point second half deficit in a stunner last week, they were shell-shocked in the first quarter of their next game; down 28 to the Aces in Vegas. Since then, they've outscored their opponents 254-196, beating the No. 1 team in the WNBA by nine in dramatic fashion, and following it up with a buzzer beater at home to the Minnesota Lynx Sunday night.

Their body of work this week, including a head-to-head win vs. the Aces gives them the top spot for now.

2. Las Vegas Aces (13-4) +115

I still contend that Vegas is the best team in the league, and their +115 odds to win the title reflect that. However, they're also losing some of their invincibility; dropping back-to-back games for the first time all season, including two in a row at home.

A Monday matchup against a sputtering Sparks team in L.A. should do the trick to get the Aces back to flying high.

3. Connecticut Sun (13-6) +375

Like Vegas, Connecticut entered the end of the week with two straight losses before responding on the road in a defensive knockout of the Dream Sunday afternoon; holding Atlanta to just five second quarter points in their own building.

Connecticut's defense is back on track, but their offense still is struggling. The Sun averaged just over 70 points in their last three games, including two losses to the Mystics and Liberty.

4. Seattle Storm (11-7) +575

The Storm continue to drive bettors crazy. After winning six of their last seven, including four games on the road, they lose to a terrible Sparks team back in their home arena by eight.

Might they add some reinforcements in Sue Bird's final season with Tina Charles now available?

5. Washington Mystics (12-9) +1500

Washington finally appears to be fully healthy and got a big 87-86 win on the road vs. the Aces on Saturday. They need Alysha Clark, Elena Delle Donne and Natasha Cloud to keep getting quality minutes, and Shakira Austin is blossoming into a defensive force in the paint.

Now, they just need to get their eighth-ranked (via WNBA offensive rating) offense going.

6. New York Liberty (8-10) +3000

The Liberty entered the month of June as the worst team in the league at 1-7. New York has since gone 7-3, with the second-best net rating in the league in June (+7.3), trailing only the Sky (+7.6).

They're no longer an easy victory on the schedule, and could be dangerous heading into the second half.

7. Atlanta Dream (8-10) +7500

The good news is, the Dream are back to being an active and solid defensive team after giving up back-to-back 100-plus points the week before to Connecticut and Chicago. They still own the best defensive rating in the WNBA at 95.3

The bad news? They still can't score; holding the league's worst offensive rating at 93.5. Atlanta goes on the road for two in D.C. and Brooklyn before returning home to host the Storm at the end of the week. They need some wins before they keep slipping further out of contention.

8. Dallas Wings (9-10) +5000

The Wings continue to befuddle bettors. They lose as road underdogs to the Dream, destroy the Fever, and then lose to a Mercury team that just moved on from their second-leading scorer.

Arike Ogunbowale is balling out, averaging 19.5 points and 3.7 assists per game, but Dallas is a bottom-4 defensive team; struggling to get some key stops late in games.

9. Minnesota Lynx (+10000)

The Lynx have to feel snake-bit with all these single possession, heartbreak losses over the last few weeks.

They've dealt with injuries all season long and continue to play hard without much to show for it. On Sunday, they outscored Chicago 23-13 in the final quarter until Courtney Vandersloot's buzzer beater for the Sky gave them the 88-85 victory.

10. Phoenix Mercury (+10000)

The Mercury won their most recent game against the Wings in Dallas following the release of second-leading scorer Tina Charles from their roster.

While it's not over for the Mercury, they seemed to get into a rhythm playing small after being outscored 23-13 in the first quarter. They'll be a curious watch to see what happens in the post-Charles era.

11. Los Angeles Sparks (+10000)

The Sparks got absolutely obliterated by the Sky in their home building on Thursday, but followed it up with a nice 85-77 upset win on the road in Seattle vs. the Storm.

Besides the Fever, no team has a worse net rating this year than L.A. at -6.1.

12. Indiana Fever (+20000)

It's still hard to fathom how this Fever team upset the Sky at the end of the previous week, but they followed it up with a brutal 94-68 loss to the Wings in Dallas.

Kelsey Mitchell and NaLyssa Smith are doing all they can, but the Fever just don't have enough help, especially defensively to keep up.
