Team USA women’s hockey is one win away from a trip to the gold medal game with Finland standing in the way.
Team USA already beat Finland once during the Olympics and the oddsmakers are confident that the outcome on Monday will be similar. Finland has been getting crushed left and right with an 11-1 loss to Canada, a 5-0 loss to ROC, and 5-2 to the Americans. Their lone win came against Japan in the quarterfinals 7-1.

United States vs. Finland Prediction and Pick
Unless you are expecting a Miracle on Ice 2.0 then there is pretty much no value on the moneyline and we’re going to focus on the puck line. Team USA jumped out to an early lead against Finland in their last game and was up 4-0 until Finland came alive in the third period. Team Canada already showed that Finland can be completely blown out and I wouldn’t be surprised to see that happen again on Monday. Team USA will likely play Canada in the finals and can use Finland as sort of a warm-up game of sorts.
The Americans lead all teams in total shots on goal in the tournament with 292. On the flipside, Finland’s save percentage is just .881.
Team USA’s goaltender Alex Cavallini is having a much better tournament than her Finnish counterpart with a .944 save percentage and 0.50 goals-against average in four games. As a team, team USA is fifth in scoring efficiency, fourth in power-play goals, and sixth in save percentage.
Based on what I have seen so far in the Olympics, I think team USA comes out and crushes Finland on Monday night. They are better top to bottom and will be hungry to get back to the gold medal game.
