France vs. Tunisia Prediction and Pick
France has had chances to be upset in this group stage. The French went down early to Australia, then needed a goal in the 86th minute to beat Denmark. The close calls are over and done with now. France is guaranteed a spot in the next round, but I expect them to shut the door and play with some passion in the closer.
Denmark vs. Australia Prediction and Pick
Australia scored first against France, but then proceeded to give up four consecutive goals. Even in the 1-0 win against Tunisia, Australia had less possession, fewer shots on goal and fewer corners. The Australians haven’t played a complete game yet, and that will come back to haunt them.
Although it might be close for a minute, Denmark will do a better chance at capitalizing on chances and win the game. However, the prior matches from these teams show that this will be a close game and won't open up, so the better value is with the under.
Poland vs. Argentina Prediction and Pick
Argentina is slowly picking up momentum. It started slow against Mexico, but was able to put pressure and break through in the second half. On paper, Argentina should win this game, but it wouldn’t surprise me if the slow nature of the offense catches up to it again.
Poland scored two goals against Saudi Arabia, but they have given up a goal in each game. The Polish will have trouble scoring in this one, just like in the Mexico game. With that in mind and the Argentinians prone to slow starts, take the UNDER.
Mexico vs. Saudi Arabia Prediction and Pick
Mexico has created good chances in each game of the group stage. It needs a big performance, and I think it comes today against the worst defense in the group. Saudi Arabia has given up three goals in two matches. Mexico won’t have to worry about an elite striker in this match, thus giving it the room to play forward with pressure.
Saudi Arabia has had a good run, but Mexico will put itself in position to advance to the next round with this match.
