Worst Bad Beats of the Week (Braves' Bullpen Breaks Hearts Over and Over Again)

After the Atlanta Braves' extra inning walk-off loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday, I wouldn't have blamed Braves' moneyline bettors to take the rest of the week off.

Atlanta blew leads in the 9th, 10th and eventually the 11th inning, costing moneyline bettors at +110 odds three different times in back-to-back innings.

With Atlanta up 4-3, Kenley Jansen served up a game-tying triple to Kolten Wong with just one strike to go.

After the Braves got the lead back in the top of the 10th on a throwing error by Wong to score Ronald Acuña Jr, Hunter Renfroe tied it back up for the Brewers on a sacrifice fly in the 10th.

Then in the 11th, the Braves added another run to the board on a single by Travis d'Arnaud to make it 6-5. Unfortunately, Keston Hiura provided the final dagger with a two run shot against Jessie Chavez to walk it off.

For those Atlanta moneyline tickets who continued to live and die late into extra innings, welcome to your "Godfather: Part III" moment.

Did anything else from the week come close to topping that heart-stomper in Wisconsin? Here's one of the other brutal bad beats of the week.

Biggest Bad Beats This Week: Monday, May 16 - Sunday, May 22, 2022

Mito Periera was anywhere from 150/1 - 300/1 at several sportsbooks entering the 2022 PGA Championship.

The 27-year old Chilean had a three-stroke lead on the field heading into Sunday's round, and actually kept the lead until he got to Hole No. 18.

At 6-under-par, one stroke ahead of Will Zalatoris and eventual champion Justin Thomas, Pereira's tee shot on the final hole sailed wide and into the water.

Periera ended up in the water and ended up with a double-bogey on the final hole, costing him a shot at the title, as well as a playoff; costing professional bettor Rufus Peabody (amongst others) a shot at hitting a 300/1 bet on the final hole.
