The No. 22 Wyoming Cowboys will take their 21-3 overall record on the road to face off against the 10-14 New Mexico Lobos at The Pit on Tuesday night. It will be their first game as a ranked team and the Cowboys aren’t going to want to go out and embarrass themselves against the Lobos who have just two wins in the conference compared to the Cowboys at 10-1. The Cowboys are coming off their sixth straight win when it destroyed San Jose State by 22 points on the road. The blowout was led by Graham Ike with 25 points and 18 rebounds while Hunter Maldonado chipped in 23 points.

New Mexico got sort of a warm-up game heading into this matchup after a Friday night snooze-fest that saw them beat Northern New Mexico 78-46.

Wyoming vs. New Mexico Prediction and Pick

The Lobos get their second crack at the Cowboys after missing a win over their Mountain West rivals by just two points back in January. And while I would love to take a chance on them to finish off the upset they weren’t able to before, I don’t see it happening for them. Frankly, their defense is so bad that I can’t expect them to give Wyoming a run for their money again. In fact, I think it will be quite the opposite. Even though Wyoming escaped with a win, they got shook and I don’t think they are going to mess around with the Lobos tonight. I think they come out guns blazing.

The Cowboys have the 64th ranked scoring offense in the league and the 67th best scoring defense. Nothing I love more than a well-balanced team I'll tell ya. The offense can shoot well, ranking 27th in effective field goal percentage, and are a top 10 defense on the perimeter. I think the spread here is being influenced too much by a fluke close call last time these two played and will take Wyoming to beat up on the Lobos as they should have done last time.

Pick: Wyoming -6 (-110)
