The Wyoming Cowboys hit the road after losing an important Mountain West game to the San Diego State Aztecs. Wyoming drops to 12-4 in conference play and into third place behind Colorado State and Boise State.

While they remain on the right side of the bubble, that loss against the Aztecs definitely stung. Another will put their chances to make it to the tournament in peril. Tonight, the Cowboys are hoping to turn their luck around against another MWC foe in the UNLV Rebels. The Rebels have played quite well down the stretch and managed to upset Colorado State 72-51 and hung tight with Boise State in their last game out.

Here are the odds for this Mountain West matchup, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Wyoming vs. UNLV Prediction and Pick

This is a tough game to call because while I think Wyoming is a better team on paper, they are playing well below their level right now. They have lost three of their last five and haven’t looked comfortable on the court for what feels like weeks. They have been held under 70 points in three of their last five and are 2-3 ATS in their last five.

In a weird way, I think Wyoming might be reinvigorated by this away game. They are one of those weird teams that have better luck against the spread away from home. In their case, it’s much better. Wyoming is 7-1 ATS as an underdog on the road and 9-3 ATS on the road in general. On the flipside, UNLV is 7-9 ATS as a home team and 1-1 ATS as a home favorite.

Wyoming is also a better team in terms of both offensive and defensive points per game by quite a large margin. I’m going to bet that they get back on track tonight and make their case for an NCAA Tournament bid.

Pick: Wyoming +100 to win
