Xavier vs. UConn Prediction and Odds (Back UConn As Underdog)
By Matt De Saro
The Big East is in early action today when the Xavier Musketeers head to Connecticut to take on the No.24 UConn Huskies. After a strong start, the Musketeers have lost five of their last eight games and will be looking to turn things around as the season starts to wind down. The Musketeers also were already beaten by Xavier two weeks back by six points and are coming off a disappointing loss to St. John’s in their last game.
Can they bounce back and get a revenge win or will the Musketeers fall to the Huskier for the second time this year?
Here are the odds for this Big East brawl, courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

- UConn +6.5 (-105)

Xavier vs. UConn Prediction and Pick
While I was high on Xavier a few short weeks ago, at this point I’d have to be high to trust them during this rough patch. Not only have the Musketeers collapsed in the W/L column, but they are doing awful against the spread. They are 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games and 2-3 ATS in their last five. That includes an upset loss to St. Johns as 6.5 point favorites and a four-point loss as 14 point favorites to DePaul. Meanwhile, as a home team, the Huskies are 6-7 ATS and 3-3 ATS against ranked opponents.
Not only is UConn having better luck lately, but I think they match up much better against Xavier than the odds suggest. I think they are a more balanced team that has the 35th ranked scoring offense in the league and the 54th best scoring defense. They rank fourth in total rebounds per game and first in offensive boards. Xavier, on the flip side, has been very poor on offense and has scored an average of 70 points in their last four games. I don’t see how they pull out of this nosedive and I think UConn brings strong value as home underdogs tonight.
Pick: UConn +240 to win
