Yale vs. Butler Prediction and Odds for Tuesday, December 6 (Back Yale in Battle of Bulldogs)
Expect a "dog fight" this evening at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis when the 8-1 Yale Bulldogs take on the 6-3 Butler Bulldogs in Ivy League vs. Big East college basketball action.
Yale has looked impressive, with its only loss of the season coming in a three-point decision to Colorado. It has strong wins over Hawaii, Vermont, and others.
Meanwhile, Butler looks to gain some momentum before they begin their Big East schedule. They have wins over Kansas State and BYU, but also have tough losses to Penn State, Tennessee, and NC State.
Let's dive into the odds for tonight's bulldog battle:
Yale vs. Butler Odds, Spread, and Total
Yale vs. Butler Prediction and Pick
Your immediate reaction might be to fade an Ivy League team, but Yale is a legitimate squad that we should take seriously. Its defense has been amongst the best in the country through the first month of the season. Heading into tonight's game, Yale ranks 11th in defensive efficiency and 15th in opponent effective field goal percentage.
Butler has also had issues turning the ball over this season, ranking 198th in turnovers per possession, coughing the ball up on 18.9% of their possessions. This, on top of the fact that they rank 291st in effective possession ratio, means they're vulnerable.
Butler has largely handled business against inferior opponents this season, but I'm not so sure that Yale is one of those opponents who are leagues below them.
I'll take the points with the smart guys from Yale.
