Yale vs. Dartmouth Prediction and Odds (Bet the Over in Ivy League Matchup)
By Reed Wallach
Yale and Dartmouth meet for the second time this season as the Bulldogs look to build some momentum ahead of the Ivy League tournament in hopes of securing an NCAA Tournament berth.
Dartmouth played Yale tough when the team's first met earlier this month, losing on the road 72-69 in a game that went over the total of 132 while the Big Green covered the 7.5 point spread.
What can we expect this time around? Here are the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:
Yale vs. Dartmouth Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
- Yale: -3 (-110)
- Dartmouth: +3 (-110)
Moneyline:
- Yale: -150
- Dartmouth: +125
Total: 133 (Over -110/Under -110)
Yale vs. Dartmouth Prediction and Pick
Yale's defense may be the best in the Ivy League, per KenPom, but I believe that is a bit fluky, and can be exposed come Tuesday night. The team allows a 40% 3-point rate and opponents are hitting on just 29% of them. While the team was due for some positive regression in Ivy League play after a difficult non conference schedule, it's drifted too far in favor of them.
Not to mention, opponents are shooting just 66% from the free throw line against them in league play, the lowest mark in the Ivy. Dartmouth may struggle on the offensive side of the ball, but it protects the ball and is comfortable jacking up 3s, posting the second highest rate in the conference. On top of that, the team has the second best free throw percentage behind their opponent, Yale, in conference play.
All of this leads me towards the over. It has moved a bit from opening at 132 but I still like it given the fact that this one went over of 136 in the first meeting and in what is projected to be a close game two strong free throw shooting teams can send it over in the final minutes.
LEAN: OVER 133
