Yankees 2022 World Series Odds Remain Stable Despite Historical Start to Season
By Peter Dewey
The New York Yankees are the best team in baseball so far this season, and it’s not particularly close.
The Yankees are one of the fastest teams to ever reach 50 wins in Major League Baseball history, needing just 67 games to complete the feat.
New York has been at the top of their game all season long, posting the third best start in franchise history. The only two teams that got off to better starts, in 1939 and 1928, both went on to win the World Series.
Yankees Leading Major League Baseball in Several Key Statistics
Through their first 67 games, the Yankees are first in baseball in run differential (+145), first in OPS (.770), first in home runs (111), second in runs scored (344) first in team ERA (2.84), first in shutouts (11) and fourth in strikeouts (620).
Absolutely dominant.
They've also been fantastic at stringing wins together this season with four winning streaks of five or more games.
Yankees’ World Series Odds Still Have Value
Somehow, despite this dominant start, the Yankees aren’t the favorite to win the World Series at WynnBET Sportsbook.
New York is +500 to win it all after opening the year at +750 odds. The Los Angeles Dodgers (+425) still hold the top spot in the odds.
The American League East is the toughest division in baseball, which could work against the Yankees, but they have dominated division foes so far this season.
Yankees Record vs. AL East Teams
- Yankees vs. Orioles: 9-4
- Yankees vs. Red Sox: 2-1
- Yankees vs. Rays: 6-2
- Yankees vs. Blue Jays: 8-4
With so many historical trends on the Yankees’ side to win the World Series, grabbing that at +500 is still worth an investment considering how great they’ve been as we near the halfway mark of the 2022 season.
