The Angels could be undervalued to sweep the Yankees on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles Angels have a chance to sweep the New York Yankees and climb closer in the American League Wild Card race on Wednesday.

Los Angeles won in extras on Monday, and then it got a solid performance from Patrick Sandoval to win on Tuesday night. On Wednesday, things may be a little tougher.

Lefty Carlos Rodon (0-2, 5.23 ERA) is searching for his first win as a Yankee on Wednesday when he takes on Angels youngster Chase Silseth (1-1, 5.30 ERA). A bullpen piece or opener, Silseth has not pitched since June 2.

New York’s offense has gone quiet again during this series, but can it salvage a win and end its three-game losing streak? Oddsmakers seem to think so, making the Yankees road favorites in this game:

Yankees vs. Angels prediction and pick

Rodon has struggled with the Yankees, allowing six runs and eight hits across 10.1 innings of work. He’s given up a long ball in each of those outings, and that could be an issue against a top five offense like the Angels.

I don’t really trust Silseth, but if he can get through the first few innings, this Yankees offense has shown it struggles against the Angels bullpen.

Silseth’s ERA is a little skewed by two bad outings in May where he allowed 10 runs (seven earned) across just 6.2 innings of work. Since then, he’s allowed four runs in seven innings.

Right now, the Yankees are an absolute mess.

The team is just 1-4 since the All-Star break, losing twice to the Colorado Rockies in the process.

Until we see the Yankees’ offense come to life, I’ll fade them on the road.
