It's been two different types of games between the New York Yankees and Oakland Athletics as they go through their four game series but the result has been the same: a New York victory.

The Yankees took the first game 13-4, but Friday night's matchup was much more competitive with the Yanks squeaking out a 3-2 win. Can the lowly A's steal a win from the first place Yankees or will the visitors make it fifth win a row as they round into form with Giancarlo Stanton back in the lineup?

Here are the odds for this meeting between first and last place foes:

Yankees vs. Athletics Prediction and Pick

While the A's offense is a mess, hitting just .215 in the month of August, they have actually been efficient at generating run scoring chances. The team is 21st in wRC+ this month, which is better than what it's been all season long and gets to face an erratic pitcher in Domingo Germán who has seen his strikeout rate diminish. He is punching out less than seven batters per nine innings.

Oakland may push across a few runs, but it's the Yankees offense that is set to roll against rookie Adam Oller. It's been tough sledding for the Athletics right hander, who has a 6.41 ERA in 11 starts this season. He is allowing nearly two home runs per nine innings and has struggled to find his control. In his last start he walked five batters across to six innings and allowed a deep fly.

Against a Yankees team that is looking healthier and sharper at the plate over the last week, I expect to see them chase Oller from the game early and get to Oakland's bottom 10 bullpen.

I'm leaning towards the over out west.
