The New York Yankees look to continue their assault on the rest of the Major Leagues as they close out a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays today. The Yankees opened this series on Friday with a decisive 12-3 win over Toronto to grow their lead in the AL East to 11 games over the Jays. The win made it nine in a row for New York and brought their record against Toronto to 5-1 on the year.

The Blue Jays are a good team but the Yankees have a habit of making any opponent look weak. Friday proved this and I think we will see a similar outcome this afternoon.

Here are the odds for this game from consensus sportsbooks.

Yankees vs Blue Jays Prediction and Pick

Gerrit Cole will make his 14th start of the year for New York after a fantastic bounce back against the Rays on Tuesday. A week after getting routed by the Twins for seven runs in 2 ⅓ innings, Cole shut out the Rays over six scoreless frames. Cole lowered his ERA to 3.33 and moved to 6-1 with the win. There have been a few rough patches, but overall Cole has been a huge boon to this team. The Blue Jays have done pretty well against Cole with a .279 batting average and 20 extra-base hits in 148 at-bats. In one start this year against the birds, Cole gave up three runs on four hits in 5 ⅔ innings in his second appearance of the year.

Yusei Kikuchi has the tall task of trying to slow this Yankee offense down today. This is a job I don’t think Kikuchi is up for. At least not the way the Yankees are currently playing. Kikuchi is making his fourth start of the year against New York after a trio of decent appearances against the Yanks. Career-wise, the veteran lefty has a .236 batting average against this lineup.

While Kikuchi does well against the Yankees, New York has taken their game to a new level since they last met. The Yankees look nearly unstoppable and already beat the Blue Jays by nine runs once this week. Take the Bombers to close out this series strong with a win over their division rivals.

Pick: Yankees -120
