There is no team hotter in baseball than the New York Yankees, although the Atlanta Braves are on quite a run of their own at the moment, as the Yanks are now two games ahead of the Oakland Athletics for the top wild card spot in the American League.

New York has been flying up the odds list at WynnBET after it passed the A’s and Red Sox in the wild card standings, but New York is now solidifying itself as a legitimate World Series contender.

Oddsmakers have moved the Yankees into the top five in the latest World Series odds at +900 after they secured their ninth-straight win on Saturday. The Yankees have gotten contributions across the board from the likely sources such as Aaron Judge, Luke Voit and Giancarlo Stanton to the unexpected players like shortstop Andrew Velasquez and starter Nestor Cortes.

It’s been a complete turnaround for a Yankees team that was on the outside looking in at the All-Star break, and there’s a chance New York could push the Tampa Bay Rays for the AL East crown.

Tampa Bay (+1000 to win the World Series) currently holds a four-game lead on the Yankees, but New York has gained some significant ground on this recent stretch.

The Rays are still -275 favorites to win the division with the Yankees coming in at +300, which is the second-best odds to win the division.

However, with Corey Kluber, Gleyber Torres, Gio Urshela and potentially Domingo German or Luis Severino returning for the stretch run, the Yankees are looking like one of the team’s to beat in the American League.

It would be quite the turnaround, but it’s hard not to back the Yankees at the moment with everything going their way.
