it looks like it's going to be a long time before budding superstar Zion Williamson returns to the New Orleans Pelicans.

After pausing his rehab due to discomfort in his foot, Williamson reportedly will be completely dialed back in his rehab because the bone in his right foot has not healed the way the Pelicans expected.

This is a brutal loss for New Orleans, who essentially has no chance at the postseason without Williamson, and it's really concerning for the team's future.

Williamson's game is predicated on his athleticism, but foot injuries and the added weight that the star has put on certainly raise a red flag for his future. This isn't to say that Williamson won't get back to his All-Star form, but the fact that his foot injury is lingering this long is concerning for the future of his career.

The Pelicans may be wise to sit Williamson out for the entire 2021-22 season considering that they are just 8-20 and in last place in the Western Conference.

It will be interesting to see how and when Williamson ramps up his rehab to return to the court with his foot still giving him trouble. WynnBET currently has the Pelicans at +20000 to win the NBA title this season.
