3 Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Cavaliers vs. Jazz (Back Darius Garland, Fade Hassan Whiteside)
By Peter Dewey
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz are both looking to get on track on Wednesday when they face off in Utah.
The Jazz have posted the worst defensive rating in the NBA since Rudy Gobert was placed in the NBA’s health and safety protocols, but they’re still five-point favorites in this game at WynnBET.
While I don’t love either team in this matchup, there are a few player prop plays that I am considering for Wednesday’s contest.
Best Prop Bets for Cavaliers vs. Jazz
- Darius Garland OVER 19.5 Points (-145)
- Jarrett Allen OVER 10.5 Rebounds (-105)
- Hassan Whiteside UNDER 13.5 Rebounds (-135)
Darius Garland OVER 19.5 Points (-145)
I don’t love the juice on this prop for Darius Garland, but the Jazz have gotten torched in their last three games.
Utah is coming off allowing 126 points to the Detroit Pistons, who entered the game with the worst offensive rating in the NBA.
Garland is averaging 19.4 points per game, and he’s cleared this number in six of his last eight games. While he did score just 12 points against the Sacramento Kings earlier this week, I think this is a bounce-back spot for the Cavs point guard.
Jarrett Allen OVER 10.5 Rebounds (-105)
Jarrett Allen and the Cleveland Cavaliers will take on a Utah Jazz team that is expected to be without Rudy Gobert on Wednesday night due to the NBA’s health and safety protocols.
Gobert has missed three games, and Utah is 22nd in the NBA in rebounding percentage over that stretch and has the worst defensive rating in the NBA.
Allen grabbed 10 boards in the first meeting between these teams, but that was against a healthy Utah team that ranks No. 1 in the NBA in rebounding percentage when Gobert plays.
Over his last six games since returning from the NBA’s health and safety protocols, Allen has cleared this total four times and is averaging 11.3 rebounds per game. I think he clears it with Utah struggling to do much of anything defensively.
Hassan Whiteside UNDER 13.5 Rebounds (-135)
While I love the over on Allen’s rebounds prop, I don’t feel the same way about Hassan Whiteside on Wednesday.
Whiteside has started three straight games for Utah, but he has gone over this number just one time, coming against Detroit who is 29th in the NBA in rebounding percentage.
The Cavs are eighth in that stat, and they have two glass eaters in Allen and Evan Mobley down low. Whiteside put up seven and eight boards in his first two starts, and I think this line is an overreaction to the game against the Pistons.
