3 Best NBA Prop Bets Today for Grizzlies vs. Suns (Fade Chris Paul's Assists Prop)
By Peter Dewey
The Phoenix Suns will host the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday night as they look to bounce back from their loss to the Golden State Warriors on Christmas Day.
WynnBET has the Suns as an 8.5-point favorite in this game, and we have previewed it for you here.
However, if you’re looking for more action on the game, I have some player props to consider in tonight’s contest:
Best Prop Bets for Grizzlies vs. Suns
- Jaren Jackson Jr. OVER 5.5 Rebounds (-105)
- Mikal Bridges OVER 11.5 Points (-125)
- Chris Paul UNDER 9.5 Assists (+105)
Jaren Jackson Jr. OVER 5.5 Rebounds (-105)
Jaren Jackson Jr. is coming off a six-rebound game against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, and he’s facing a Suns team that is 13th in the NBA in rebounding percentage, grabbing 50.1 percent of rebounds this season.
Jackson has cleared this number in three of his last five and two of his last three, and I like the value at -105 compared to some of the other props on the board. JJJ is going to need to show out against Deandre Ayton and company for the Grizzlies on Monday.
Mikal Bridges OVER 11.5 Points (-125)
There are several reasons why I love the over on this prop for Mikal Bridges on Monday, but first let's start with the Phoenix Suns aspect.
Phoenix is going to be without forward Jae Crowder due to the league’s health and safety protocols, which naturally opens up a bigger role for Bridges on offense. He’s already averaging 12.3 points per game this season, but Bridges was even better without Crowder last year.
During the 2020-21 season, Bridges averaged 15.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in the 12 games that Jae Crowder missed. As long as he gets his season average tonight, he will hit on this prop.
Now, let’s look at the Memphis side, as the Grizzlies will be without Dillon Brooks on Monday. Memphis is a much worse team defensively when he’s out this season.
This is lining up for a great spot for Bridges, and I think he easily hits the over against Memphis.
Chris Paul UNDER 9.5 Assists (+105)
There is no doubt that Paul is one of the best passers in the game, and he is averaging 9.9 assists per game to show for it this season.
However, the veteran guard has failed to clear nine dimes in five straight games and six of his last seven contests, yet the over on this prop is juiced at -145. I’m going to gladly fade Paul at +105 odds, not because he can’t rack up assists, but because he’s less playmaking opportunities with Devin Booker back.
Booker has played in the last four games and Paul has failed to go over this number in every matchup. Booker is a high usage player, and Paul’s touches are going to take a hit because of it. Fade him tonight.
