3 Best NFL Prop Bets to Grab Today for Week 3
By Ben Heisler
Lines are moving and odds are shifting! Prop bets are on the move ahead of Week 3 in the NFL!
Here are three of my favorites for this week's slate with all odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.
Darnell Mooney Receiving Yards
OVER 40.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
After Andy Dalton left in Week 2 with a knee injury, Justin Fields targeted wide receiver Darnell Mooney frequently in the Bears' 20-17 win against the Bengals. The second-year wideout from Tulane hauled in six catches on eight targets for 66 yards and a long of 21.
Even though he only had 26 yards in Week 1, he was still targeted seven times. Dalton rarely threw the ball downfield at all, limiting Mooney's ceiling, but Fields' ability to extend plays changes everything.
Mooney's been listed on the Bears' injury report with a groin injury, but with Fields' likely expanding the Bears' ability to go deep, Mooney may be able to pass this number on a single play!
For what it's worth, Mooney is +200 at WynnBET to score an anytime touchdown.
Leonard Fournette Receiving Yards
UNDER 22.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
For as much damage as both defenses have done this season against the run, the thought process for many bettors is to lean on receiving yards for running backs instead. In Fournette's case, it makes sense. He's already caught nine passes for the Buccaneers, passing the 22.5 in both games this year.
However, the Rams do not set up well as a team you can dump the ball off to in the flat. Los Angeles ranks seventh-best in the NFL in opposing yards to running backs with 57 on the season as well as just seven catches. That's good for sixth-best in the league.
If we're looking at a high scoring game, expect more opportunities for Giovani Bernard as their primary pass catcher instead of Fournette. I'll go under here.
Davante Adams Receptions
UNDER 8.5 Receptions (-130)
Part of Rodgers' success last week for the Packers was getting the ball to Adams, as he caught eight passes on nine targets for 121 yards. That also came against the Detroit Lions.
This week presents a much more difficult challenge for Rodgers. The 49ers will likely dare him to find other weapons down the field. San Francisco also was one of the best teams in the NFL in limiting total passing yards in 2020, despite a down season.
