The New York Yankees’ backs are against the wall on Sunday in Game 4 of the ALCS. New York trails the Houston Astros 3-0 and is hoping to avoid the sweep with Nestor Cortes on the mound against Lance McCullers.

There hasn’t been a lot of offense in this series, especially from New York, so does that give us an incentive to hammer some UNDERS on Sunday?

Here are the three prop bet plays I am considering for Game 4 of the ALCS:

Astros vs. Yankees Best MLB Prop Bets

  • Lance McCullers OVER 5.5 Strikeouts
  • Josh Donaldson UNDER 0.5 Hits
  • Yankees Team Total UNDER 7.5 Hits

Lance McCullers OVER 5.5 Strikeouts

The Yankees can’t stop striking out in this series, racking up 41 strikeouts over the first three games. They’ve had double-digit K’s in every single game (17, 13, 11).

McCullers may not have to pitch deep into this game to foil New York’s lineup, and he’s been a solid strikeout pitcher this season, registering 50 punch outs in 47.2 innings pitched.

Any way that you can fade the Yankees offense tonight is fine by me.

Josh Donaldson UNDER 0.5 Hits

Since his two-hit game in Game 1 of the ALDS, Josh Donaldson has been ice cold at the plate for the Yankees.

He is just 3-for-23 over his last seven games (.130) and he’s struck out 13 times over that stretch. The fact that Donaldson isn’t putting the ball in play should help with this prop, and the Yankees as a team don’t have more than six hits in a single game this postseason.

Fade the aging third baseman tonight.

Yankees Team Total UNDER 7.5 Hits

I have given this prop out all postseason for the Yankees and it continues to hit.

It really doesn’t matter who is on the mound for the Astros, New York can’t clear six hits against them and it didn’t do it once in five games against the Cleveland Guardians.

Elimination game or not, 7.5 hits is far too many for New York to clear in Game 4.
