3 Best Prop Bets for Astros vs. Red Sox ALCS Game 2
Game 1 of the ALCS is in the books, and the Astros are now three games away from the World Series. Houston took the lead late in the game courtesy of a Carlos Correa home run and never looked back.
With Game 2 today, there’s much more baseball on the way. Houston is sending out Luis Garcia (11-8, 3.30 ERA) to face Nathan Eovaldi (11-9, 3.75 ERA).
Houston is a -113 favorite on the moneyline, while Boston is +103. The Astros are also 1.5-favorites on the run line.
As the game gets started and the series unfolds, here are my three best player prop bets for today’s game.

Best Prop Bets For Astros vs. Red Sox
Luis Garcia UNDER 4.5 Strikeouts (-140)
Garcia is getting his second start in this postseason, but the Astros should have a backup plan ready. In his two postseason starts, Garcia has four strikeouts combined. He hasn’t pitched a full five innings and isn’t someone the Astros should be betting on to go the distance.
Boston showed its offensive firepower last night, and Houston needs to be prepared if Garcia gets in trouble early. Even in his last five starts of the regular season, he only surpassed 4.5 strikeouts twice. This is a clear spot to fade Garcia.
Christian Arroyo OVER 0.5 Hits (-120)
Arroyo has been inconsistent this postseason, so I understand if there’s hesitancy to bet on him. However, he’s proven able to make adjustments and find a way to put the ball in play. He’s had two games this postseason with zero hits. After both of those games, he had multiple hits in the next game. If this is what Arroyo is going to do in these playoffs, then I’m comfortable backing him in Game 2.
Nathan Eovaldi OVER 4.0 Strikeouts (-120)
While Garcia may have trouble striking people, Eovaldi should be okay. His line is lower and has less juice despite his numbers being in his favor. He’s struck out 8 people in his two starts this postseason and should be able to replicate half that efficiency today.
Eovaldi has only started against the Astros in the postseason once, during 2018, but he had four strikeouts then. I’ll take the -120 juice and bet he adds another one to his belt.
