The San Francisco 49ers have a chance to clinch a spot in the NFC playoffs this week, but they'll need to beat the Houston Texans in order to have a shot at doing so.

The 49ers are currently set as massive 13.5-point favorites in today's matchup, with the total set at 44 points. The spread and total aside, I'm going to focus on a few player props for this interconference showdown.

Here are my top three player prop bets, with all odds courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook.

Best Prop Bets for Texans vs. 49ers

  • Trey Lance Anytime TD (+120)
  • Davis Mills OVER 225.5 Passing Yards (-125)
  • Rex Burkhead UNDER 44.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Trey Lance Anytime TD (+120)

Trey Lance is set to get his second career start today due to Jimmy Garoppolo nursing an injured thumb. In his only other start this season, Lance ran the ball 16 times for 89 yards. I expect more of the same from him today, especially against a Texans that ranks 27th in opponent yards per carry.

Davis Mills OVER 225.5 Passing Yards (-125)

Nobody expected Davis Mills to be one of the better rookie quarterbacks this NFL season, but he's been pretty impressive, especially considering the fact that he's playing for a dumpster fire of an organization in the Texans.

He's surpassed this number in two of his last three starts, and the 49ers secondary has been vulnerable at times this season. The Texans will also likely be playing from behind in today's game, so he should have plenty of time late in the game to hit the OVER on this number.

Rex Burkhead UNDER 44.5 Rushing Yards (-115)

Rex Burkhead exploded for 149 yards on 22 carries against the Chargers last week, but don't expect a repeat performance this week. In fact, that was the only game all season that he's surpassed today's rushing total of 44.5 yards. As a whole this season, he's averaging only 3.8 yards per carry. Last week's performance was an outlier, and now he's facing a stout 49ers run defense.
