A weather delay has pushed the Chicago White Sox vs Houston Astros ALDS Game 4 to today, but that just means we get some afternoon baseball to watch.

The Astros enter the game up 2-1 in the series, and can clinch an ALCS berth against the Boston Red Sox with a win. Meanwhile, the White Sox can force a Game 5 with a victory, and potentially set up a Sox-bowl against Boston.

WynnBET has the White Sox set as -115 (bet $115 to profit $100) favorites at home in Game 4, and the Astros are set as +105 (bet $100 to profit $105) underdogs.

Here are my three bold predictions for this ALCS Game 4 showdown. All odds listed are via WynnBET Sportsbook.

UNDER 4 Runs in First Five Innings +120

There’s no reason not to believe that this will be a pitchers duel. Lance McCullers Jr. gets the start for the Astros, and he pitched 6.2 scoreless innings against the White Sox in Game 1. Carlos Rodon will take the bump for Chicago, and he’s allowed only one earned run in 14 total innings pitched against the Astros this season.

With the first five inning total set at four runs, I absolutely love the under at plus-money.

Astros -1.5 Alternate Run Line +170

The Astros are slight underdogs in this game, which means their normal run line is set at +1.5 which is juiced at -190. Nobody wants to bet on that, and in fact, I’m going to go the opposite way and take their alternate -1.5 runline at +170 instead.

McCullers has already shutdown this White Sox lineup once this series, and the Astros boast the best offense in baseball scoring an average of 5.36 runs per game. Even if Rodon can have a good start, Chicago will eventually turn to its 12th-ranked bullpen. I think the Astros close out this series this afternoon and advance to the ALCS.

White Sox UNDER 4 Runs +100

With how dominant McCullers has been as of late, it’s hard to imagine that the White Sox will be able to surpass this total. In 10 games against the Astros this season, Chicago has only surpassed four runs twice, one of which came in Game 3 of this series.

I like that trend to continue today, especially considering we’re getting the UNDER at plus-money.
