3 Bold Predictions for Henry Ruggs in Raiders vs. Chargers on Monday Night Football
By Peter Dewey
The Las Vegas Raiders and their league-best passing offense will take on the Los Angeles Chargers and their seventh-ranked passing defense on Monday Night Football.
So basically, something has to give, right?
Derek Carr and the Raiders have dominated through the air to start the season, and the emergence of Henry Ruggs has been a big reason why. The 2020 first-round pick has put up 191 yards and a touchdown over his last two games, and he has a bunch of player props at WynnBET for Monday night’s matchup.
The Chargers were able to slow Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill and company in Week 3 (Hill had just five catches for 56 yards), but can they do it again in Week 4?
Henry Ruggs OVER 3.0 Receptions (-115)
Prior to Week 2 of this season, Ruggs had never seen over five targets in a game in his career, but Jon Gruden has made sure that has changed the past two weeks.
Ruggs saw seven targets in the Raiders' wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins the past two weeks and he’s backed it up with solid production.
Ruggs has five and four catches over the last two games, and while he only had two in Week 1, I think this line is actually low for the speedster. The Chargers are likely going to key in on star tight end Darren Waller, which could leave Ruggs in one-on-one coverage more often than not.
Henry Ruggs OVER 45.5 Receiving Yards (-115)
Look, if Ruggs makes more than three catches, he’s easily hitting the over on his receiving yards prop, so I’m going to take both.
For his career, Ruggs has averaged 18.6 yards per reception and that number is up this season at 21.5.
He very well could hit the over on this prop in one play, and with 46, 113 and 78 receiving yards in each of his games this season, I love the over on this prop.
Henry Ruggs Anytime Touchdown Scorer and Raiders Win (+395)
These are bold for a reason!
Ruggs has not been a touchdown machine in his career, so if I’m going to take him to score, I’m going to take him at +395 odds with a Raiders win rather than just +175 to score.
Ruggs has three career touchdown catches, but for what it’s worth, the Raiders have won all three of those games. It’s worth a shot at +395.
