Up 1-0 on the road in Houston, the Atlanta Braves send Max Fried (14-7, 3.08 ERA | 1-1, 3.78 ERA postseason) to the mound as they look to take a commanding two-game lead in the World Series against the Houston Astros tonight.

Houston will counter with right-hander Jose Urquidy (8-3, 3.62 ERA | 0-1, 27.00 ERA postseason), who makes just his second appearance of the playoffs.

We've got game previews, bold predictions and picks for which players will leave the yard, but we'll focus this breakdown on our three favorite prop bets available at WynnBET Sportsbook.

Best World Series Prop Bets: Braves vs. Astros Game 2

  • Max Fried OVER 4.5 strikeouts (+100)
  • Martin Maldonado OVER 0.5 Total Hits (-110)
  • First Five Innings Total Runs UNDER 4.5 (-105)

Max Fried OVER 4.5 Strikeouts

Fried has never faced the Astros in his career, so I expect them to take a few more pitches. That actually might work to Fried's advantage, who has averaged more than a strikeout per inning during the postseason, and that's still with his last outing where he gave up five earned runs in 4.2 innings to the Dodgers.

I could see Fried getting to three or four K's the first time through the Astros order, only needing a few more before they consider removing him ahead of the third time through.

Martin Maldonado OVER 0.5 Total Hits

The Astros' catcher has the highest positive difference in wOBA, or weighted on-base average of all players tonight when facing a left-handed pitcher.

He'll hit ninth, but he'll still likely see Fried twice, possibly even three times through which gives him a leg up in this prop along with the -110 odds.

First Five Innings Total Runs UNDER 4.5

Despite both Fried and Urquidy's struggles last time out, I'm anticipating more of a pitcher's duel to start this matchup. With the full total at nine, I think we see more runs as the starters come out, with several of the bullpen arms going on back-to-back days after they were used heavily in Game 1.

Both managers need at least five innings from their horses tonight and I anticipate that both starters bounce back positively.
