3 Props to Bet for Cowboys-Eagles on Monday Night Football
By Peter Dewey
Monday Night Football will display an NFC East rivalry game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Both teams are currently 1-1, and after losses by the New York Giants and Washington Football Team on Sunday, the winner of Monday’s matchup will find itself atop the division.
Dallas is coming off a huge win against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 2, while the Eagles disappointed against a tough San Francisco 49ers’ defense.
Who will have a big game in Week 3 with the division lead on the line? Will Dak Prescott outduel Jalen Hurts?
Here are some prop bets that I’m looking at for Monday Night Football with all odds via WynnBET:
Jalen Hurts OVER 1.5 Touchdown Passes (+110)
Jalen Hurts threw for three touchdowns in the Eagles’ Week 1 win over the lowly Atlanta Falcons, but he was unable to throw for a score in Week 2.
I think that’s going to change in Week 3. Dallas has allowed the third-most passing yards in the NFL this season, and it also has given up five touchdown passes through the first two weeks of the season.
Hurts struggled against San Francisco, but both offenses were subpar in that game and not many points were scored. That’s not going to be the case against a porous Dallas defense, and Hurts should be able to take advantage of the Cowboys’ secondary with DeVonta Smith, Jalen Reagor and Dallas Goedert.
Amari Cooper Anytime TD Scorer (+110)
Amari Cooper had a major performance in Week 1, catching 13 of his 16 targets for 139 yards and two scores, but he took a step back to the Dallas running game in Week 2.
The Eagles have allowed the second-fewest passing yards in the NFL through the first two weeks, but they also faced Atlanta and San Francisco, who aren’t strong passing offenses this season.
Cooper has been Dak Prescott’s go-to guy for the past few seasons, and I think he bounces back in a big way in Week 3. At plus odds to score a touchdown, there are worse players to make a bet on than Cooper.
Tony Pollard OVER 29.5 Rushing Yards (-120)
Tony Pollard has run for more yards than Elliott through the Cowboys’ first two games, and he may have earned an even bigger role in Week 3 against the Eagles.
Pollard has run for 123 yards (7.7 yards per carry) through the first two weeks of the season including a monster game in Week 2 where he ran the ball 13 times for 109 yards.
Pollard has played himself into more touches in the Dallas offense, and the Eagles 16th-best run defense should allow him to find some success on Monday night. I think Pollard can make this backfield more of any even split with his explosiveness he’s shown through the first two weeks.
