A few weeks back I wrote an article about Aaron Judge’s chances to hang on and finish the season as the MLB’s home run leader. Well, as of now, nobody has caught him yet and Judge now has 25 home runs in 66 games.

But, it's what Judge is doing when he isn’t hitting the ball out of the ballpark that will pave his path to the AL MVP award. Things are heading in that direction as Judge has moved to be the outright favorite to win the AL MVP. Here are the current odds as they are listed at WynnBET Sportsbook.

2022 American League MVP Odds

  • Aaron Judge: -110
  • Shohei Ohtani: +400
  • Mike Trout: +450
  • Jose Ramirez: +700
  • Rafael Devers: +1200
  • Yordan Alvarez: +2000
  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr.: +3000

Judge Odds on Favorite to Win AL MVP

Not only has Judge taken over the top spot on the odds board, but he’s also holding a pretty commanding lead over the rest of the field. Things on the NL side of things are much tighter with all potential winners offering plus odds right now.

So, how did Judge get to this spot? Let’s dive into his stats through 66 games.

We all know he’s leading the league in home runs, but he also leads the MLB in runs scored and slugging at .644. Perhaps the most important aspect of his game this year is a .300 batting average entering today’s game. For any hitter in the MLB, this is a very good average. But, for a power hitter to also be among the top 20 in batting average is a phenomenal feat.

As I’ve stated once or twice before this year, as long as Judge remains healthy, this season could be a career year for the Yankees outfielder. If he keeps up this pace, he’s going to run away with the MVP and leave the rest of the AL in the dust.
