The most entertaining fight of tonight’s UFC 266 could very well end up being the main event between Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega.

The two will be competing for the UFC’s featherweight championship, as Volkanovski will attempt to defend his belt for the second time. This will also be Ortega’s second shot at winning the belt, as his only loss on his professional MMA record came against then champion, Max Holloway, at UFC 231 when he lost via doctor stoppage at the end of the fourth round.

Volkanovski only has one loss on his record, and it came way back in his fourth ever professional fight in 2013. He now boasts a 22-1 record, including impressive wins over the likes of Max Holloway (twice), Jose Aldo, and Chad Mendes.

WynnBET has Volkanovski set as the -200 (bet $200 to profit $100) favorite in this bout, and Ortegan will enter the octagon as the +170 underdog.

Volkanovski vs Ortega Odds and Pick

Myself and Reed Wallach broke down our best bet for the fight in our UFC 266 best bets article, but I’ll throw another option out there for you to consider.

If you want to bet on Volkanovski, but you don’t want to swallow the -200 juice, WynnBET has “method of victory” prop options available. They are as follows:

  • Volkanovski via TKO/KO +350
  • Volkanovski via decision +138
  • Volkanovski via submission +1200

I think Volkanovski to win by TKO/KO at +350 is a great value bet. Ortega struggled with his boxing when he fell to Max Holloway, with the fight being stopped at the conclusion of the fourth round. Volkanovski has since defeated Holloway twice, with both victories being claimed largely with his striking capabilities.

Volkanovski has 11 wins in his career by KO/TKO, and two of his last five wins have come via this method.

I think it’s an area he can excel at tonight, and you won’t find a better bet at +350 odds.
