The 2021 NFL regular season is approaching quickly and WynnBET is offering some new player props for the upcoming year.

One of the prop series that WynnBET is offering are “Next Step” props, which exclusively include second-year players. It’s an interesting and fun prop to look into, and some of the names on the list for the running back rushing and receiving yards prop have me intrigued with their odds

Here’s how it looks:

Next Step - Most Rushing + Receiving Yards in Regular Season Odds

  • Jonathan Taylor: +150
  • J.K. Dobbins: +300
  • Antonio Gibson: +450
  • Clyde Edwards-Helaire: +500
  • D’Andre Swift: +1000
  • Zack Moss: +10000

Antonio Gibson Has Serious Value

Washington Football Team running back Antonio Gibson seems in line for a major year after rushing for 795 yards in 14 games last season while averaging 4.7 yards per carry.

In fact, his teammate Kyle Allen thinks Gibson could rival Christian McCaffrey-type usage in Washington’s offense this year. Remember, Washington head coach Ron Rivera coached McCaffrey in Carolina during his 2019 season where he had over 2,300 scrimmage yards.

"You saw Christian McCaffrey in this offense a couple of years ago," Allen said. "Obviously, one of the best players in the league. But, I think that's where we're trying to push Antonio to go."

Oh my.

At +450 odds, Gibson could be an absolute steal if he sees that kind of usage in 2021. Gibson missed out on a ton of catches last season, as Washington relied on J.D. McKissic (110 targets, 80 catches) as the teams’ primary third-down back.

Gibson, who will be the starter from Week 1 in 2021, should see an uptick in touches and is certainly worth a bet at these odds in this prop.

D’Andre Swift and Clyde Edwards-Helaire Aren’t Helping Cases With Injuries

Edwards-Helaire and Swift both showed serious flashes in the 2020 season, but CEH is already dealing with an ankle injury, and Swift may not even be ready for Week 1.

WynnBET has both players further down the odds list despite their explosive play style and pass-catching ability, but until we can see them stay healthy, they may not be as valuable as Gibson in this prop.

Edwards-Helaire has less competition in Kansas City’s high-powered offense, so he would be my pick if bettors were choosing between the two.
