Ask the Oddsmakers: There's Sneaky Value on UNC Tonight vs. Notre Dame
By Ben Heisler
Every week, the BetSided team of editors puts together our favorite college football upsets of the week. So far, we've gone 19-15 picking underdogs straight up to win!
However, one game we did not include this week was this Saturday evening's matchup from Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind when the North Carolina Tar Heels come to town to face the No. 11 Fighting Irish.
Over at WynnBET, the Irish are 3.5-point home favorites over the Tar Heels with a total of 62.5. For those who want to bet North Carolina on the moneyline, they're available at odds +155.

WynnBET trader Patrick Wall has been providing his expertise all season long in our ongoing "Ask the Oddsmakers" series, and highlighted the matchup as one of his favorites on the slate.
"I was shocked to see the game not in contention for being one of the most bet of the weekend," said Wall.
“We opened this game at Notre Dame -4 with a total of 62. It currently sits at Notre Dame -3.5 with a total of 62.5. Notre Dame is receiving 80.0% of the spread tickets and 80.1% of the spread handle. Notre Dame is also receiving 77.3% of the moneyline bets and 70.4% of the moneyline handle. Tickets on the total are dead-even, but the over is receiving 86.2% of the total handle.”
Despite Notre Dame receiving the bulk of the tickets and money, the line actually shifted in the direction of UNC, indicating some sort of reverse line movement over at WynnBET. Wall indicated that's largely do to the heavy amount of public bettors going on Notre Dame, but sharps weighing in on the other side.
“This is a classic pros vs. joes game," says Wall.
"A top-15 program in Notre Dame is playing North Carolina, who is in a very down conference this year. They are laying just a field goal and the hook. Additionally, the line has moved against the Irish despite receiving more tickets and money than the Tar Heels.
The Irish could very well be on upset alert on Saturday. I will certainly be tuning in and will likely be holding a Tar Heels’ ticket.”
Howell, once considered a top candidate for the Heisman Trophy at the start of the season, will need an ideal prime time performance to get North Carolina back on track and back into the NFL Draft discussion.
