Daily Dinger: Best Home Run Prop Bet Picks Today (Aaron Judge Has Roger Maris In His Sights)
The BetSided crew got back on the "Daily Dinger" board Tuesday night from Coors Field in Denver, as Donnavan Smoot's selection of slugger C.J. Cron blasted one out at +300 odds.
With just a few weeks to go, the standings in our in-house contest are starting to get real interesting. BetSided's Ben Heisler remains in first with 20, Peter Dewey and Reed Wallach are tied for second with 15, and Iain MacMillan, along with Smoot are just a few back at 12.
Could we see a wild race to the finish?
For Wednesday night, we've got props on Aaron Judge chasing down Roger Maris in New York, along with several notable names on the board; including one longtime slugger trying to chase a home run record of his own.

Aaron Judge - New York Yankees vs. Pittsburgh Pirates
How does rooting for history tonight sound?
New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge hit his 60th homer of the season on Tuesday night, putting him one shy of Roger Maris’ franchise record, and I think he has a chance to go deep again against Roansy Contreras and the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Judge now leads the American League in every Triple Crown category, surely putting to bed any questions about whether or not he’s the league’s MVP. He’s a threat to go yard every night, and with the Pirates bullpen (dead last in ERA this season) fresh off blowing a four-run lead in the ninth, I think there’s no time like the present for Judge to tie the record. – Peter Dewey

Shohei Ohtani – Los Angeles Angels at Texas Rangers
I know Ohtani, like everyone else watched Aaron Judge hit his 60th home run of the season last night. The MVP is all but locked up, but if Ohtani wants to make a last-second argument, now is the time.
He’s going against Dane Dunning, who’s given up four home runs in his last three starts. Ohtani has hit 25 of his 34 homers against righties this season.
He has a good matchup and some extra incentive to hit one out the park. – Donnavan Smoot

Marcus Semien - Texas Rangers vs. Los Angeles Angels
Semien has been on a tear of late. It may be too little too late, but he is hitting .340 over the last two weeks with an OPS of 1.055. He has two homers in his last 12 games and now gets to face the porous Angels bullpen as well as lefty Tucker Davidson.
Davidson has been plagued by home runs since being acquired by the Braves at the trade deadline, he has allowed six homers in 27.1 innings, and I’ll back Semien at long odds to send one over the fence. – Reed Wallach

Albert Pujols - St. Louis Cardinals at San Diego Padres
While the world is zoning in on Aaron Judge to tie or possibly pass Roger Maris' record of 61 single season home runs with the New York Yankees, I'll look to another player about to be in the record books of his own.
Albert Pujols is sitting on 698 home runs and gets a dream matchup tonight in San Diego vs. left-hander Blake Snell.
To Snell's credit, he's bounced back from a rough start and pitched much better of late, but he has been hit hard in a few recent starts vs. the L.A. Dodgers and Cleveland Guardians; both at pitcher-friendly Petco Park.
This season, there has been only one better with a better OPS, isolated power (ISO) and weighted-runs-created-plus (wRC+) vs. left-handers than Pujols, and that's his teammate Paul Goldschmidt who could win the Triple Crown in the National League.
With Snell likely to try and pitch around Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado, Pujols will be sitting on fastballs all night.

Justin Turner - Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Madison Bumgarner gets the start for the Arizona Diamondbacks today when they take on the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he’s been terrible in the second half of the season. Since the All-Star break, he has an ERA of 7.03 in 10 starts and has allowed around 1.7 home runs per nine innings. Now, he has to face the best offense in baseball.
So, if you’re going to bet on someone to hit a home run today, it wouldn’t hurt to look at a Los Angeles Dodger. I’m going to back Justin Turner to hit a dinger. He’s only hit 13 this season, but I expect some positive regression from him in the final weeks of the season as he’s approaching his 2021 home run total of 27. – Iain MacMillan
