Atlanta Braves third baseman Austin Riley had a terrific day at the plate on Monday night against the Philadelphia Phillies; going 2-4 with two doubles. He just didn't put one over the fence.

Best Home Run Picks Today

  • Jesus Aguilar (+370) - FanDuel Sportsbook
  • José Ramírez (+450) - PointsBet Sportsbook
  • Josh Donaldson (+420) - FanDuel/Caesars Sportsbook
  • Darin Ruf (+340) - FanDuel Sportsbook
  • Freddie Freeman (+460) - Caesar's Sportsbook

Jesus Aguilar (+370) - Miami Marlins at Cincinnati Reds

I’m going to take a shot on the Marlins first baseman to go deep on Tuesday, even though he has just 11 homers on the season.

Aguilar is facing the pitcher with the most homers allowed in MLB this season in Hunter Greene, who has given up 23 long balls in his rookie season for the Reds.

With the Marlins down several key players to injury, Aguilar seems like the best bet to be in the lineup and have the power to launch one out on Tuesday night. -- Peter Dewey

José Ramírez (+450) - Cleveland Guardians at Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox might have broken the Sydney Sweeney curse yesterday, but that doesn't mean I all of a sudden have faith in their pitching staff again. They still have the worst team ERA  in the month of July at 6.68, and starter Josh Winckowski is giving up an average of one home run per nine innings.

I'm going to back Ramírez to hit a home run tonight for the Guardians. He has already hit 19 this season, including a two home run performance against the Tigers back on July 16th. I think he's worth a sprinkle to go yard again today. -- Iain MacMillan

Josh Donaldson (+420) - New York Yankees at New York Mets

Taijuan Walker is going to be a tough matchup for the Yankees, but this is a great spot to take a Yankee with some value.

Aaron Judge is 2/1 to hit a homer today, which isn’t a great line considering how dominant Walker has been this year. With Donaldson, you can recoup that value a little bit. He’s been in a slump, not hitting one out the park since July 9th.

His dingers are normally spaced out, so I’ll bet on him breaking his slump tonight in a big way. -- Donnavan Smoot

Darin Ruf (+340) - San Francisco Giants at Arizona Diamondbacks

Time to stretch out and do the splits for the Giants platoon slugger!

Ruf has nine of his 11 home runs this season against left-handed pitching; socking out a dinger just under 10% of his at-bats vs. southpaws. He owns a weighted runs created plus, or wRC+ of 162 vs. lefties, and an isolated power, or ISO of .294; almost three times the average number.

Meanwhile, the matchup is a dream vs. Tyler Gilbert of the Diamondbacks. He's been a negative WAR pitcher (-0.3) in six starts this year, allowing 2.25 home runs per nine innings; amongst the highest on the slate. He also doesn't miss any bats either; averaging a strikeout percentage of just 14%.

It's almost as if Gilbert is in for a "Ruf" night on the mound...

I'll see myself out. -- Ben Heisler

Freddie Freeman (+460) - Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Washington Nationals

Freeman has been picking up steam as an MVP candidate, so why not ride the wave and take one of the hottest hitters to go deep against the lowly Nationals.

He's hitting .487 over the past two weeks with four long balls, and gets a favorable matchup against Washington's Josiah Gray.

Gray has allowed the second most home runs in the big leagues this season (21) and I think he does to Freeman on Tuesday. -- Reed Wallach
