For Thursday's action, we're looking to an outside-the-box name in the Bronx, a struggling former superstar playing north of the border, and two L.A Dodgers left-handed bats playing at Coors Field in Colorado.

Best Home Run Picks Today

  • Aaron Hicks (+630) - FanDuel Sportsbook
  • Javier Báez (+360) - Caesars Sportsbook
  • Freddie Freeman (+375) - PointsBet Sportsbook
  • Cody Bellinger (+400) - Caesars Sportsbook

Aaron Hicks (+630) - New York Yankees vs. Kansas City Royals

When it comes to the Yankees, picking Aaron Judge every night is the safe choice. However, this is a Yankee team coming off two losses to the Mets and in desperate need of a bounce-back win.

Hicks hasn’t hit a home run in his last 12 games, but he did hit three in four games prior to this drought.

He’ll face Brady Singer, which is a solid matchup. Singer has given up at least one home run in seven of his last 10 starts. On top of that, five of Hicks’ six dingers this year have come against righties.

The Yankees need a jolt of energy, and I think that comes from Hicks’ bat. -- Donnavan Smoot

Javier Báez (+360) - Detroit Tigers at Toronto Blue Jays

Báez still has a long way to go to catch his 2021 home run total of 31, but I have faith that he can take a step in the right direction with that number tonight. He only has nine on the year, so some positive regression could be in his future.

Tonight, he and the Tigers take on Yusei Kikuchi of the Blue Jays, who gives up 1.9 home runs per nine innings this season.

At least one person on the Tigers will hit a dinger off him tonight, and I'll wager on it being Javy that does it. -- Iain MacMillan

Freddie Freeman (+375) - Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies

Freeman and the Dodgers take on Rockies starter Jose Ureña on Thursday, and let’s just say that’s a matchup Freeman is going to love. In his career against Ureña, Freeman is slashing .412/.487/.941 with four homers, four doubles and 11 runs batted in. He’s done all of this in 34 at-bats!

Urena has a 3.13 ERA for Colorado this season, but he’s also allowed two homers in four starts with the team. This game is also being played at Coors Field, so we know the ball will be flying.

Cody Bellinger (+400) - Los Angeles Dodgers at Colorado Rockies

While my guy Peter goes with a very qualified left-hander against Ureña in Freeman, I too will back a Dodgers lefty to take him deep at Coors in Bellinger.

Bellinger's home runs can come in bunches, and he took one out against the Nationals in his last game for a solo shot. Facing a pitcher whose expected ERA is more than two full runs above his current ERA of 3.13 feels like the right recipe to make it happen.

Belly has also taken Ureña deep in the past, and is 4 for 5 lifetime against the veteran right-hander with multiple extra base hits. At 4/1 odds, I'll back him to remain hot in a matchup where the total sits at 12 at WynnBET Sportsbook. -- Ben Heisler
