We nearly pulled off the three-team parlay yesterday if only Tampa Bay's lineup came to play.

Shane McClanahan did his part in limiting Cincinnati to one run, but the Rays couldn't muster any offense and we came up just shy in extra-innings.

I do think the approach was sound though: back dominant pitchers. With a bunch of strong starters going in today's 15-game MLB slate, we've got a strong formula to carry us into today's parlay.

As you're selecting your favorite matchups to wager on, don't forget to check out the BetSided team's previews for each game. I've poured over those previews myself and am pleased to bring you a magical combination of bets destined to help you pull money out of thin air.

Or WynnBET Sportsbook's bank account, to be more accurate.

Let's get rolling. Using the odds from WynnBET, here are my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

Astros -1.5 (-195) vs Athletics

There's no better place to get the party started than with the most lopsided pitching matchup on the slate. Framber Valdez has 13 consecutive quality starts for Houston. He's been obscenely good and the Astros have won nine of 11 behind him.

Oakland is horrible against left-handed pitching, but even their pitiful lineup could likely score on Zach Logue, who they happen to be starting today. Logue had a 5.22 ERA in the minors before getting called up, and his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile spells disaster:

The Astros lead MLB in OPS against left-handed pitchers over the last three weeks and are 10-2 in their last 12 as road favorites. Meanwhile, the A's won just four times in their last 24 games as road underdogs. Give me the better pitcher, lineup, defense, and bullpen with Houston.

Braves -1.5 (-130) vs Nationals

We get one of my favorite teams to bet against my favorite pitcher to bet against? Happy Patrick Corbin day!

The Nationals are 1-6 in Corbin's road outings this season, getting outscored by a combined total of 52-16. He ranks among MLB's worst in every major statistical category, including being in the fourth percentile in expected batting average, fifth in expected ERA, and sixth in expected slugging percentage.

Atlanta's lineup is hot and tee off on Corbin. I'm expecting a strong performance from starter Kyle Wright as well, who allowed three runs or fewer in 13 of his 16 starts. The Braves are 15-2 in their last 17 as a home favorite and should roll with ease today.

Rangers (-115) vs Twins

Another pitcher I love to back, Martín Pérez, looks to continue a stellar season and I think he gets it done against Minnesota.

The Rangers are 11-1 in Perez's last 12 starts as he's turned into one of the most consistently excellent pitchers in MLB. I'm going to bet on him every time I get the chance, especially with short odds at home.

Devin Smeltzer has been good for the Twins too, but his success has mostly come against offenses that struggle against left-handed pitching. Well, Texas mashes southpaws. Smeltzer ranks in just the 40th percentile in expected ERA and 22nd in expected slugging percentage, so I expect the Rangers to find success in this one.

In Pérez we trust.

MLB Parlay for July 9, 2022

The "Found a Formula" Parlay (+400)

  • Astros -1.5 (-195) vs Athletics
  • Braves -1.5 (-130) vs Nationals
  • Rangers (-115) vs Twins

Bang bang! Just like that, we've got three excellent pitchers to back at juicy +400 odds to carry us through our Saturday.

I highly encourage you to utilize the BetSided game previews to make your own parlay over at WynnBET, as there's tons more value on the board throughout the day.

Whichever direction you choose, I wish you the best of luck as always. Let's get after it!
