Best MLB Parlay Picks Today (McClanahan Headlines Trio of Elite Starters To Back)
By Joe Summers
Could I interest you in supporting a few elite starting pitchers with a stupendous MLB Parlay?
I hope so, because that's exactly what we've got in store today. There's 16 games scheduled but a handful are jumping out with explosive value. Wednesdays are for winning bets, so why not win one massive bet?
Check out the BetSided previews for each game on the slate, but keep these picks in mind as well as you're filling out a bet slip at WynnBET Sportsbook.
Using odds from WynnBET, here are my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:
Best MLB Parlay Picks Today
Yankees -1.5 (-170) vs Reds
The Yankees have tremendous value facing one of the worst starters in MLB, Mike Minor. Dating back to last year, Minor's team is 1-13 in his last 14 starts with 11 losses coming by multiple runs. He's allowed a home run in every single start and New York has the most powerful lineup in baseball.
On the other end, Luis Severino has a 2.62 ERA at home and looks dominant. He's coming off six shutout innings against the Pirates with a quality start in five of his last six appearances.
Take the Yankees in what could easily turn into a blowout as Mike Minor's charitable approach to pitching lets New York score in bunches.
Phillies (+100) vs Blue Jays
Severino is great, but Zack Wheeler is even more dominant and there's no way on Earth he should be an underdog to Ross Stripling and a Blue Jays team that's 2-9 in its last 11.
Toronto just fired its manager and is scuffling in every way. Stripling has impressed but ranks in the 12th percentile in expected batting average and the Blue Jays lost each of his last two starts.
Meanwhile, Wheeler hasn't allowed a run in 17 consecutive innings as he's deserving of Cy Young recognition. Coming off an All-Star snub, he should be furious and focused to mow down the Toronto lineup.
Philadelphia should improve to 5-2 in its last seven as a road underdog while the Blue Jays fall to 2-8 in their last 10 as a favorite.
Rays (-181) vs Red Sox
Here comes the most dominant pitcher of them all, Shane McClanahan! I agree with Donnavan Smoot that McClanahan gives the Rays a significant edge over Josh Winckowski and Boston. The AL Cy Young favorite has allowed two or fewer runs in every single start since the start of May and has a 1.35 ERA in his last six outings. Just look at this man's MLB Statcast Pitching Profile:
McClanahan is on the short list of "Best Pitchers on the Planet" and is huge upgrade over Winckowski, who just gave up six runs to the Yankees last week. That's more runs than McClanahan surrendered in his last six starts combined, for reference.
The Rays are 7-2 in their last nine as home favorites and should cruise to a victory behind the unparalleled McClanahan.
MLB Parlay for July 13, 2022
The "Wednesdays Are For Winning Bets" Parlay (+396)
- Yankees -1.5 (-170) vs Reds
- Phillies (+100) vs Blue Jays
- Rays (-181) vs Red Sox
Keeping it a bit light today but I still love backing these three incredible starters. Between Severino, Wheeler, and McClanahan, we've got three pitchers I'd go to war with any day of the week.
Be sure to utilize the BetSided previews to pick your own favorites for a parlay, but these three matchups are oozing with value that we can't ignore.
