It's a holiday weekend, it's a beautiful day outside, and I'm feeling the parlay juices flowing through my veins already.

With 16 games scheduled on the MLB slate, I'm itching to put together a magical combination. Check out the BetSided team's previews for each matchup to choose your favorite bets, but for now, let's get into mine.

Using the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, here are my favorite MLB parlay picks for today:

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

Braves vs Cubs Over 8.5 (-105)

The over cashed in each of the last nine Charlie Morton starts, as well as the last three Keegan Thompson starts. It's also hit in four straight games Atlanta was a road favorite, as they've been on a tear offensively. They're second in MLB in OPS over the last three weeks while Chicago is 14th.

Neither bullpen is good and neither defense is threatening. I'm surprised this line is only 8.5 so I love the over. It's Charlie Morton day, let's roll.

Rangers vs Tigers Under 8.0 (-115)

Got to balance out an over with an under, right? Look, things are bad for the Detroit lineup right now. In their last five games, they've been shutout twice and scored one run twice.

Oof. But they do have Tarik Skubal on the mound, who is spectacular, especially at home.

Skubal has a 2.41 ERA at Comerica Park as the under is 6-1-1 in his last eight starts and 9-3-2 in Detroit's last 14 as a home favorite.

Jon Gray has been stout too for the Rangers, allowing one run in two of his last three outings. His 3.79 expected ERA (xERA) implies positive regression is ahead compared to his 4.85 ERA, and the Tigers' lineup is a great place to start. They're dead-last in OPS over the last three weeks and could make even you or me look like Nolan Ryan.

Padres (-138) vs Rockies

MacKenzie Gore just gave up six runs to the Rockies in 2.1 innings last week, but I think he'll bounce back today. He allowed only one run in his three starts prior to that combined and has a spectacular 2.38 FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching). San Diego had won three straight starts by Gore before last week and I'll happily trust the totality of his year over just one bad game.

I'm especially happy to trust him against Kyle Freeland and this Colorado club. They've lost seven straight at home after getting swept by the Braves and Guardians. Things won't come easier against a Padres team that's won 11 of 14.

Kyle Freeland looked good against them last week, but he still has a 4.79 expected ERA and struggles across the board. Take a look at his MLB Statcast Pitching Profile:

That guy isn't winning back-to-back against San Diego. Especially not when his team is at a significant disadvantage on the field and in the bullpen. Roll with Gore to bounce back in a road win.

Twins (-126) vs Diamondbacks

This is my favorite play on the board. The Twins are 4-1 in Smeltzer's last five starts as he's turned into a reliable starter. He's yet to allow more than three runs in a single start, and his 3.76 expected ERA implies his performance is no fluke.

Meanwhile, the Diamondbacks have lost four straight behind Madison Bumgarner as his early-season promise has faded into inevitable struggle. The former World Series MVP has a 5.03 FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) and is below average in every major pitching statistical category.

I think we're getting a discount on Minnesota's odds because Bumgarner is well-known and Smeltzer is not. That won't last long. Back the Twins to push Arizona to 4-9 over their last 13.

MLB Parlay for June 17, 2022

The "Juices Are Flowing" Parlay (+1029)

  • Braves vs Cubs Over 8.5 (-105)
  • Rangers vs Tigers 8.0 (-115)
