Best MLB Parlay Picks Today (Rangers, Royals, & Marlins Create Whopping Wednesday Parlay)
By Joe Summers
Yesterday was a poor day for yours truly. My guy Jacob deGrom was great in his return, but the New York Mets decided to honor him by forgetting they're actually a good team now and ruined everything.
Oh well, onward and upward. The MLB schedule-makers were kind enough to give us baseball all throughout the afternoon today, helping carry us through the middle of the work week.
I thank you, schedule people, and can't wait to jump into today's 15-game slate to wash the stench of yesterday's performance off me.
Using odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, here are my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:
Best MLB Parlay Picks Today
Rangers (-150) vs Orioles
The Baltimore Orioles were perhaps MLB's biggest loser at the trade deadline, waiving the white flag despite sitting firmly in contention for a wild card berth. They traded away All-Star closer Jorge Lopez and the beloved Trey Mancini. I disagree with that approach, but now we get to fade Baltimore against one of the best pitchers in baseball, Martin Perez.
Over Perez's last 16 starts, the Texas Rangers are 14-2. He's allowed just one run in three straight outings and with the disappointment Baltimore's clubhouse must feel, I love the value on the Rangers.
Orioles' starter Kyle Bradish has been horrific this season, compiling a 7.50 ERA on the road. His MLB Statcast Pitching Profile illustrates how much he's struggled:
It's tough to fade Baltimore, but now is the right time to do it. Back Perez to stay hot as the Rangers come away with a home win.
Royals (+137) vs White Sox
I'll keep this simple. All you need to know is that Chicago White Sox starter Lance Lynn sucks, and Kansas City Royals' starter Brady Singer does not.
Lynn has an 8.21 ERA in his last five starts, lasting to the sixth inning just once and surrendering six home runs in that stretch. He's in the 16th percentile in expected slugging percentage and 17th in expected batting average, so an improving Royals lineup should find success.
Singer, on the other hand, has 22 strikeouts over his last two starts and compiled a 2.05 ERA in July. Kansas City won four of his last five starts, and Singer surrendered just two total runs in his last three outings.
The Royals have a significant advantage on the mound, and thus I'm thrilled to back them at plus odds.
Marlins (-200) vs Reds
If Miami Marlins' starter Sandy Alcantara is a superhero, with a 1.99 ERA on the season, then Cincinnati Reds' pitcher Mike Minor is the Hamburglar from McDonalds. He's absolutely dreadful, with a 1-7 record and 6.31 ERA.
Dating back to last season, Minor's team is 1-16 in his last 17 starts, including seven straight losses. This is a mismatch of epic proportions, and I expect the Marlins to dominate.
Alcantara had perhaps his worst start of the campaign last week against the Mets, so he'll be anxious to get back on track against a Reds team that just traded away one of its best position players, Brandon Drury.
Miami has five straight losses as a home favorite, but that changes today. Trust Alcantara while Minor continues to flounder.
MLB Parlay for August 3, 2022
The "Better Than Working" Parlay (+493)
- Rangers (-150) vs Orioles
- Royals (+137) vs White Sox
- Marlins (-200) vs Reds
Who is ready for a whopping Wednesday cash? Odds of +493 give us $123.12 on a $25 bet, and I'm thrilled with the value in these three matchups.
Be sure to check out the game previews from the BetSided crew for each contest on the slate as you finalize your wagers over at WynnBET, but these are the three games I see the most value in.
Let's rebound from yesterday and nail one today. Best of luck, let's get after it!
