Best MLB Parlay Picks Today (Sandy Alcantara, Walker Buehler Among Starters to Trust)
By Peter Dewey
Every day at BetSided, one of our editors is looking to put together an MLB parlay to bet for that day's action. While parlays aren't going to make you a profitable sports bettor, they can be really fun to root for throughout a day full of baseball.
Here are three picks that I’m looking to parlay on Thursday, April 14, with all odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:
Best MLB Parlay Picks Today
- Milwaukee Brewers-St. Louis Cardinals First 5 Innings UNDER 4 Runs (+105)
- Los Angeles Dodgers Moneyline (-260)
- Miami Marlins +1.5 (-215)
Milwaukee Brewers-St. Louis Cardinals First 5 Innings UNDER 4 Runs (+105)
One of the best offensive teams so far this year, the St. Louis Cardinals (6.25 runs per game), will take on one of the worst, the Milwaukee Brewers (3.0 runs per game), on Thursday afternoon.
However, two of the best pitchers in the National League are on the bump as Adam Wainwright faces Brandon Woodruff. Wainwright tossed six scoreless in his Opening Day start, while Woodruff was knocked around by the Chicago Cubs in his first outing.
I’m buying low on Woodruff here, as the Brewers star was one of the best pitchers in baseball last season, posting a 2.56 ERA. I think there is value on the under through the first five innings of this game.
Los Angeles Dodgers Moneyline (-260)
This is a pretty simple pick, as the Los Angeles Dodgers are sending ace Walker Buehler to the mound against the 2-4 Cincinnati Reds on Thursday.
Buehler was solid through five innings in his season opener, and the Reds have traded away half of their offense prior to this season. That, coupled with the fact that the Reds are staring Luis Cessa, (career ERA of 4.93 as a starter), leads me to trusting a vaunted Dodgers team tonight.
Miami Marlins +1.5 (-215)
I’ve seen the Marlins as underdogs at some other books, but they are actually favored at WynnBET in this matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies. Despite that, I’m taking them at +1.5 on the run line tonight.
Miami is 4-1 on the run line this season, while the Phillies are just 2-4. The Marlins are also starting ace Sandy Alcantara, so I think this is a winnable game for them regardless. Alcantara allowed just three hits over five innings of work in his start on Opening Day.
I’m not sold on the Phillies or their bullpen, which was downright awful the last few seasons, so I’ll take the Marlins to keep this close.
