Between the Phillies immediately rolling off a nice winning streak following the firing of Joe Girardi, the Angels canning Joe Maddon after a 12-game losing streak, and the Giants sending catcher Joey Bart back down to the minors, last week was pretty rough for us Joe's.

Since the Phillies, Angels, and Giants all immediately started winning over the last several days, it's up to me to prove that having someone named Joe wasn't the only problem.

With that in mind, I've got a chance to clear my good name with today's 15-game MLB slate. The BetSided team has you covered with previews for each matchup, but I've got a few favorites I'm targeting.

Let's check out my best MLB parlay picks today, using the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook:

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

Marlins (+210) vs Astros / Under 7.5 (-110)

Edward Cabrera looks sensational. He's allowed only three hits in his first two starts combined while striking out 13 and displaying some truly obscene ability:

The 24-year-old has increased his changeup usage this year to just over 37%. It's worked, as his changeup has a whiff rate of 41.5% and an opponent's expected batting average of .081. Well, guess what team happens to be terrible against changeups?

That's Houston's MLB Statcast run value against the changeup. It's not good! Justin Verlander is a monster, but he's looked vulnerable of late and the Astros are just 2-5 in their last seven games as a favorite. Miami is hot, and at +210 the value on Cabrera is too good to pass up.

But I like the under in this one too. Like I said, Verlander is a monster. He's in the 81st percentile in expected ERA and the under is 8-2-1 in his starts. I think Cabrera could shut the Astros down and Miami scratches a couple of runs on the board, so I'll roll with the Marlins in a low-scoring game.

Reds (+141) vs Cardinals

Their odds have fallen considerably since I tabbed the Reds as my best MLB underdog of the day but I still like the value here. Graham Ashcraft looks like a certified stud. He's given up one run in his last three starts, spanning 19.1 innings, and Cincinnati has won each of his four outings. If you bet $100 on the Reds moneyline each time, you'd be up $535.

Meanwhile, Dakota Hudson has perhaps been the luckiest pitcher in the sport. He has a 2.76 actual era, which is good! But he also has a 4.61 expected ERA, which is bad. The regression monster is coming for Hudson, who ranks in the 21st percentile in expected batting average and 24th in walk rate.

The Cardinals' lineup is slumping of late too, with only the 27th-ranked OPS over the last two weeks, compared to 10th for the Reds. Cincy has the pitching and hitting edge, roll with Ashcraft to stay unbeaten.

Tigers (+116) vs Blue Jays

What? It's Tarik Skubal day. The Tigers are 5-1 in his last six starts as he's cemented himself as one of the game's best pitchers. He has a 1.70 ERA at home and has shut out his opponent in four of his last six starts.

Life does get easier when you have a pitcher that can somehow pull off a crossover with a pitch like he's Allen Iverson or something.

Detroit is 6-3 in their last nine as a home underdog while the Blue Jays have lost three of Ross Stripling's last four starts. Roll with the Tigers to win their fourth in five games.

Recap

The "For Joe's Everywhere" Parlay (+2924)

  • Marlins (+210) vs Astros
  • Marlins vs Astros Under 7.5 (-110)
  • Reds (+141) vs Cardinals
  • Tigers (+116) vs Blue Jays

With four matchups that I think present great value, I absolutely love getting +2924 odds on only four picks. That's $730.92 on a $25 bet, so keep these plays in mind as you're filling out your bet slip at WynnBET.

Mix-and-match or choose your favorites, but whichever direction you choose best of luck. Let's end our weekend with some cash. Hopefully I don't have to change my name after this one.
