I don't know whose decision it was to only have six games on today's MLB slate, but I'd like to speak to their manager.

Honestly, I thought my computer got stuck and didn't load properly. What an M. Night Shyamalan plot twist it was to discover that my WiFi connection was not the problem, but instead the sports gambling czars that be decided to limit our sample size and really test our guile.

It's a good thing the "J" in "Joe" secretly stands for "just enough guile," or else we could be in real trouble.

Thanks to the odds from WynnBET Sportsbook, let's tap into that guile and take a look at my favorite MLB parlay picks of the day:

Best MLB Parlay Picks Today

Diamondbacks (+108) vs Reds

When they zig, we zag. Madison Bumgarner's underlying metrics are not particularly friendly. Many folks in the industry have targeted him as a pitcher to fade with good reason. But this is a massive overreaction and there's no way he should be an underdog to Hunter Greene.

The flame-throwing rookie for Cincy has a ton of potential, but he's going through typical growing pains and he's not yet a quality pitcher. Honestly, the poor guy is getting hammered. He has a 6.19 ERA and the Reds are 1-8 in his last nine starts.

Cincinnati is 4-9 as a favorite this year while the Diamondbacks are 10-8 in their last 18 as a road underdog. Arizona is fourth in OPS against right-handed pitchers over the last month and average the most home runs per game on the road. They've got the superior defense and bullpen as well, so the only advantage you could say the Reds have would be Greene.

I'm not ready to trust Greene over the former World Series MVP. Give me the Diamondbacks.

Guardians (-110) vs Rangers

Don't look now, but the Guardians are surging. They've won five of six and turn to Cal Quantrill today, who has been among the most consistent pitchers in MLB. He has a quality start in six of his last seven outingsand is the far superior pitcher to Rangers starter Jon Gray.

Gray has a 5.40 road ERA as the Rangers are 2-4 in those outings. Texas' bullpen has been a huge problem of late too, as we saw yesterday when Matt Bush gave up three runs with one out in the ninth inning to blow a win against Seattle.

The Guardians are among the most patient lineups in the league and have a far superior defense to the Rangers. When you go through the list, everything points to Cleveland. Offense? Check. Defense? Check. Pitching? Check.

I'll take the Cleveland to stay hot and win their fourth straight at home, pushing Texas to 1-5 in their last six.

Red Sox (+110) vs Angels

This line makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. That probably means the Angels roll, but I have to trust myself here and back Boston.

Los Angeles is bad right now. After blowing two separate leads late to the Phillies yesterday, they've lost 11 straight. The Angels can't hit, pitch, or field, which makes winning baseball games very difficult. They'll start Noah Syndergaard today, who has a 4.69 expected ERA and just got lit up for five runs in 2.1 innings against the Yankees. At least that means he's rested, I guess?

Boston has won four straight on the road and seven of nine. The Red Sox are 6-1 in Michael Wacha's last seven starts while the Angels are 2-4 in Syndergaard's last six.

It's certainly possible Los Angeles wins, but there's not a chance in heaven they should be favorites here. I'm grateful for the sportsbooks' mistake though, and am more than happy to wrap up this parlay with the Red Sox.

Recap

The "Loaded With Guile" Parlay (+734)

  • Diamondbacks (+108) vs Reds
  • Guardians (-110) vs Rangers
  • Red Sox (+110) vs Angels

A bit lighter today with such a small slate, but less is more, right? A $100 bet on today's parlay would pay out $734, so I can't complain too much. Feel free to add your own spin to the parlay as you fill out your bet slip at WynnBET, but I'm rolling with these three matchups and love the value on each.

Best of luck to all. Let's kick this week off with a bang.
