Even though it's Week 8 in the NFL, there's always some time to place some NBA bets for the early season action.

BetSided's Ben Heisler is eyeing Sunday's matinee between the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans for his favorite prop, while Peter Dewey has a play for Sunday evening's New York Knicks-Cleveland Cavaliers matchup.

After a 2-0 day on Saturday, the team is looking to keep the momentum going tonight:

  • Obi Toppin OVER 11.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-110)
  • Reggie Jackson OVER 3.5 Assists (-135)

Obi Toppin OVER 11.5 Points, Rebounds and Assists (-110)

Obi Toppin has been terrific to open the season for the New York Knicks, and Tom Thibodeau needs to give him more minutes given his production this season.

Toppin is averaging 9.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game despite playing just 15.6 minutes per night. He’s shooting 53.3 percent from beyond the arc, a huge step up from previous seasons.

Since the Knicks’ first game against Memphis (Toppin played just 13 minutes), he’s cleared this in four straight, tallying 23, 15, 14 and 16 points, rebounds and assists.

Thibodeau has played him a few more minutes, if that continues, Toppin should see enough action to clear this extremely low number. – Peter Dewey

Reggie Jackson OVER 3.5 Assists (-135)

Reggie Jackson's playing time has taken a massive jump over the last few games, and oddsmakers have yet to adjust their numbers.

After playing an average of just under 25 minutes a game in the first three matchups, Jackson saw 30 and 37 minutes respectively in the Los Angeles Clippers’ last two games on the road at Oklahoma City. In those games he saw a much higher usage rate and put up four and six assists in both games.

The New Orleans Pelicans have the third-best offensive rating in the league, but the 21st ranked defensive rating.

The Clippers will likely have to go up-tempo to keep up points-wise with New Orleans, and that benefits Jackson's abilities to dish it out to the plethora of stars on their roster. -- Ben Heisler
