Best NRFI and YRFI Bets for Saturday, June 4 (Bet One Pitcher's Duel and One Pitching Disaster)
By Matt De Saro
Saturday is jam-packed with MLB betting action for us to tackle from a bunch of different angles. One we at BetSided have been a fan of lately is the No Run First Inning (NRFI) and Yes Run First Inning (YRFI) bets. Let's take a look at a couple of games that have value on these props as I see them and start the weekend off in the black. All odds used were provided by WynnBET Sportsbook.
Best NRFI and YRFI Bets for Saturday, June 4
Houston Astros vs Kansas City Royals YRFI (-115)
Kris Bubic is back in action for the Royals today after a brief stint in the minors. With a 12.83 ERA, it should come as no surprise that this game is on my radar for an early run. The 24-year-old lefty has allowed a first-inning run to score in four of his six starts this year including five against the Cardinals on May 4. The Royals are so bad that they recalled this guy after three starts in the minors where he gave up 10 runs in 13 ⅔ innings. His walk rate got better but still, this guy is a dumpster fire, and the Astros should get going early.
San Diego Padres vs. Milwaukee Brewers NRFI (-135)
I’ve touched on this game a few times already today with a full preview and as part of my MLB parlay picks for Saturday. But, with this kind of momentum on the hill, I think I have to add the Padres and Brewers a third time to my betting card. For those who missed my other breakdowns, I'll catch you up. MacKenzie Gore and Aaron Ashby are both cruising right now and have a great chance to take this game. Gore is 3-1 with a 1.71 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 42 innings. He’s given up just one earned run during the first inning in seven starts. Ashby, meanwhile, is 1-3 with a 2.70 ERA and 1.33 ERA. In five starts this year, Ashby hasn’t given up a single run in the first inning.
