BMW Championship Sleepers, Dark Horse Picks, and Longshots (Target Long Hitters at Wilmington Country Club)
The top 70 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings will descend upon Wilmington Country Club in Delaware for the penultimate event of the 2021-22 PGA Tour season.
With only the top 30 golfers advancing to the Tour Championship at East Lake next week, those who find themselves near the bottom of the standings will need a monumental performance this week. Which begs the question, if a longshot can win this week to earn their spot in the finale next week, who will put it off?
I've already given you my betting preview which includes my best bets for this week, but let's dive into three longshot bets to consider when placing your wagers on the BMW Championship.
All odds listed below are via WynnBET Sportsbook.
BMW Championship Longshot Bets
Taylor Pendrith +80000
We may not have seen any professional action at Wilmington Country Club, but rumor has it that distance off the tee this week will give golfers an immense advantage.
If that's the case, target Taylor Pendrith who ranks 11th on Tour in driving distance this season.
Also, outside of a stumbling 68th place finish last week, he's been in fantastic form. Prior to that start, he had five-straight finishes of T13 or better, including a T2 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
Si Woo Kim +10000
Si Woo Kim has dealt with some putter issues in his past two starts, but the rest of his game is dialed in. He gained strokes in the other four areas last week, and he was dialed in with his irons all week.
He also has two top 15 finishes in his last four starts, and he's known to show up in strong fields, like this week. If he can figure out his putter, he could be in contention on Sunday.
Trey Mullinax +15000
Much like Taylor Pendrith, if you want to bet on a longshot bomber this week, Trey Mullinax have has the distance off the tee that you're looking for. He ranks ninth on Tour in driving distance, and enters this week on a hot streak.
He finished T5 at the FedEx St. Jude last week, and won the Barbasol Championship back in July.
As long as his putter doesn't betray him, he's certainly worth a look at 150/1.
