Braves vs. Rockies Prediction and Odds for Sunday, June 5 (Rockies With Early Pitching Advantage)
By Joe Summers
The 23-30 Colorado Rockies host the 27-27 Atlanta Braves today at 3:10 PM EST hoping to salvage a win in the series.
Atlanta won the first three games by a combined score of 22-9, and look to finish off the sweep with Charlie Morton on the hill today. The 38-year-old has struggled on the road, amassing a 6.84 ERA as the Braves are just 1-4 in those starts.
Colorado will turn to Ryan Feltner, who earned his first major league win in his last start by only allowing one run over seven impressive innings against Miami.
Can Feltner build off his victory to give the Rockies a home win or will Atlanta stay hot and earn the sweep?

Braves vs Rockies Prediction and Pick
As evidenced in my best MLB parlay picks, I think Ryan Feltner is a much better pitcher than Charlie Morton at this stage. The kid looks really good, ranking in the 88th percentile in average exit velocity and his expected FIP (Fielding Independent Pitching) of 3.11 is among the best pitchers in baseball.
He's in the 80th percentile in strikeout percentage, averaging 10.59 per nine innings, and takes on a Braves lineup that averages the most strikeouts per game in MLB. With a slider that makes hitters look foolish and a fastball that opponents have only a .240 expected batting average against, Feltner keeps hitters off balance limits hard contact extremely well.
Morton, on the other hand, is a pitcher I want to fade as often as possible. He's been dreadful on the road, amassing a 6.84 ERA with the Braves losing four of his five starts. His expected ERA of 5.01 is near the bottom of all qualified starters and the thin air should zap some of the spin from his curveball, his biggest strength.
I'll admit I'm rather terrified of the Rockies' league-worst bullpen, so I'll stick to the first five innings to exacerbate Feltner's advantage over Morton. The early innings are Morton's worst, anyway, as he has an 8.10 ERA in the first inning and a 6.30 ERA in the second. Back Colorado at plus money to rough Morton up early as Feltner continues his excellent play.
Pick: Rockies First Five Innings (+115)
