The opening week of the 2022 NFL season will be capped off with a marquee matchup between the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks.

Russell Wilson, a long-time Seahawk, will be making his return to Lumen Field after being traded to the Broncos in the offseason.

The Seahawks, as a result, are projected to be one of the worst teams in the league this season. Can they keep it close on Monday night against their former quarterback?

Let's take a look at the latest odds, courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook.

Broncos vs. Seahawks Updated Prediction and Pick

Earlier this week, Peter Dewey wrote that he leans towards the Broncos winning and covering the spread on Monday night.

I unfortunately have to disagree. Sure, the Seahawks are going to have a rough season, but I think they can keep it close in the opening week.

Geno Smith may not give me a lot of confidence, but I expect Seattle to still be able to run the football effectively. They ranked third in the NFL in yards per carry last year, and now they face a Broncos team that was 13th in opponent yards per carry.

Also, let's wait before we plan the Super Bowl parade route now that the Broncos have Russell Wilson. Can he do more with Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy than he could do with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett last season? I'm not so sure.

I'll take the points with the Seahawks on Monday night.
