Kyler Murray is one of the leading MVP candidates in the NFL through the season’s first two weeks, and he’s got a chance to further his case against the struggling Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 3.

Jacksonville and rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence fell to 0-2 on the season with a loss to the Denver Broncos in Week 2, and Lawrence has thrown five interceptions in his first two games in the NFL.

It’s not an ideal start and now the Jags will face a red-hot Arizona Cardinals team that ranks second in the NFL in yardage and scoring so far this season. Murray has a few new weapons in A.J. Green and Rondale Moore, and he’s made both players important factors on offense so far this season.

The Jaguars are in danger of picking in the top five again in the next NFL draft, and the oddsmakers at WynnBET Sportsbook aren’t giving Urban Meyer and company much of a chance to win in Week 3.

Here are what the odds look like for Sunday’s 1:00 p.m. EST matchup:

Cardinals vs. Jaguars Spread, Odds and Total

Spread:

Cardinals -7.5 (-105)

Jaguars +7.5 (-115)

Cardinals vs. Jaguars Betting Trends

  • Arizona is 1-1 against the spread this season.
  • Jacksonville is 0-2 against the spread this season and has failed to cover by an average of 11.8 points.
  • Both teams are 1-1 against the over this season.
  • Arizona is 2-2 against the spread as an away favorite under Kliff Kingsbury.

Cardinals vs. Jaguars Prediction and Pick

The Cardinals have one of the best offenses in football thanks to Murray, and I think they’ll expose a Jaguars defense that allowed 37 points to the Houston Texans in Week 1 and then allowed Teddy Bridgewater to throw for 328 yards in Week 2.

Yeah, Kyler is going to feast in this one.

Even though Arizona is on the road, I’m surprised this line wasn’t a bit higher, so I’ll gladly take the Cardinals to cover the 7.5-point spread in Week 3 after they dominated the Tennessee Titans on the road in Week 1.

Lawrence has not looked like the No. 1 pick in his first two starts (it’s still super early), and Arizona’s pass rush, which has accumulated seven sacks in two games, may be too much for the rookie to handle.

The Cardinals are a surprise out West, and they have a great chance to get to 3-0 this week.
