Thursday Night Football is starting with a bang on Amazon in Week 2, as the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers face off in a battle of AFC heavyweights.

Both teams picked up a win in Week 1, but the Chargers will be without star wideout Keenan Allen (hamstring) in this matchup.

After Patrick Mahomes threw for five scores in Week 1, it seems like everyone on the Chiefs is fair game in the prop market. Who should we target this week?

Here are three of my favorites at FanDuel Sportsbook:

Best Prop Bets for Chargers vs. Chiefs on Thursday Night Football

  • Patrick Mahomes OVER 2.5 Passing Touchdowns (+112)
  • Travis Kelce OVER 6.5 Receptions (-138)
  • DeAndre Carter Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+400)

Patrick Mahomes OVER 2.5 Passing Touchdowns (+112)

Want a crazy stat for the always entertaining Patrick Mahomes?

Our guy Joe Summers pointed out to me that Mahomes has at least three touchdown passes in 12 of his 14 September games in his career entering this matchup.

Want even more?

Well, he’s also done it in six straight. This is a value at plus money for Mahomes to light it up in a potential shootout at home.

Travis Kelce OVER 6.5 Receptions (-138)

Travis Kelce is the unquestioned top option in the passing game in Kansas City, hauling in eight catches in Week 1 for 121 yards. Kelce had eight games last season (including playoffs) with seven or more catches.

After seeing nine targets in Week 1, Kelce is poised for another big showing, especially in a game that projects to be high-scoring. In addition, Kelce had 17 catches on 24 targets for 295 yards in two games against the Chargers last season.

He’s a great bet, even at -138 juice.

DeAndre Carter Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+400)

DeAndre Carter had a big game in Week 1, finishing with three catches for 64 yards and a score on four targets.

With Allen out, Carter and Josh Palmer are going to see an increase in targets, but it was Carter who outplayed him in Week 1. Palmer’s odds to score a touchdown are at +220 at FanDuel, so we’re getting much better value on Carter, who made the most of his chances in Week 1.
