Arizona Cardinals rookie Rondale Moore broke out in the first two weeks of the season, but he took a step back in Arizona’s Week 3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Moore is still +1800 on WynnBET to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but he still appears to be fourth in the pecking order in Arizona in terms of snap counts.

Cardinals Wide Receiver Snap Counts in Week 3

  • DeAndre Hopkins: 61 (91.0 percent)
  • A.J. Green: 53 (79.1 percent)
  • Christian Kirk: 38 (56.7 percent)
  • Rondale Moore: 23 (34.2 percent)

Despite seeing 13 targets over the first two games of the season, Moore saw just two looks in Week 3, catching both of them for one yard.

It’s a frustrating step back for bettors and fantasy players who backed Moore last week, and he has an even tougher matchup against the Los Angeles Rams coming up in Week 4.

Christian Kirk was the player that stepped up amongst this group in Week 3, as he tallied seven catches for 104 yards on eight targets. Kliff Kingsbury’s high-powered offense is good enough to sustain multiple wideouts, but it appears it’s going to be volatile in terms of usage going forward.

The Rams have a solid defense, but they have been attacked through the air pretty easily this season. Los Angeles is 25th in the NFL in terms of passing yards allowed per game at 844. To compare, the Cardinals are in eighth with just 606 passing yards allowed this season.

The Offensive Rookie of the Year race is wide open this season with many of the rookie quarterbacks struggling, but Moore doesn’t have long enough odds at +1800 for me to trust him in this future after seeing his volume dip last week.

It is worth noting that Kirk has worked as the third receiver and played over 56.0 percent of the snaps in each week while Moore hasn’t played more than 28 snaps (46 percent) in a game this season.

Count me out on the Moore bounce-back game in Week 4.
